Guys, it's Elvis [C] Brideback here again with another guitar tutorial.
I've got this song, Daddy.
It's a new one from Coldplay.
It's so good.
And definitely makes me super sad when I hear it.
So again, Coldplay is one of the only [F#] bands that have ever made me cry [G] just listening
to a song.
But this one is just beautiful.
And definitely reminds me of Fly On from Ghost Stories.
There's a little bit of scientist in there.
There's a lot of overlaps from prior songs that go into this song.
It makes you think about their whole discography.
This whole album has been doing that.
So I definitely have been enjoying listening to it so far.
If you have been enjoying it and you want to learn all the songs we're doing in the
whole album, I'll link the tutorial list at the end of this video.
Alright?
Daddy.
You know, everybody thought that this song was going to be kind of a weird thing, but
it turned out to be a fantastic song.
Which goes to show you that [C#] a name isn't everything.
Capo on the 6th fret.
Your first couple of chords are going to be G.
Daddy, are you out there?
[G#]
Then we're going to do a dark D.
So I'm going [D#m] to go [G#] 5-5-4.
Just pretend that your capo is here.
So 5-5-4.
And you're only really strumming the [A#m] top three strings for that.
Then you're going to go to E minor.
[G] Then we're going to go to [F#] do dark C.
Okay?
[C#] So we're going C here, 3-3-2.
To do that little part, you're going to take your finger off the D string, then put it
on the D string.
So [A#m]-2, then [C#] G string open, then B string 3-0. Okay? [A#m] [C#] [C] So that whole [C#] thing, D-2, and for strumming pattern, down, down, up, up, down, down, switch to [G#] D, down, up, up, [A#m] down, down, E minor, up, up, down, down, [F#] to dark C. [C#]
[G#] [A#m]
Alright? So then when [C#] we get to the chorus, G, U, okay? [Fm] Then we're going to do this little dark B minor, basically. You're just putting your fingers on the 2nd frets, E and A. [C] And then we're going to go to [F#] C, dark C, [C#] then to [D#m] A minor. [C#] Okay? So [A] [A#m] you do that [C#] G, B minor, [F#] to C, [D#m] to A minor, and then on the last time, you're going to go from A minor to [C#] D. [A] So it'll be A-2-3-4, D-2-3-4, then [A#m] E minor, 2-3-4, [Fm] E-2-3 [F#]-4. Alright? And then you'll do [C#] that little Okay? And then you go back. So that's really kind of all the parts, right? So on the chorus, G, up, up, down, [Fm] down, B minor, down, up, up, down, [F#] down, C-2-3 [D#]-4, A minor, [D#m] 2-3-4, [C#] okay? And then when you do it the second time, G-2-3 [Fm]-4, B minor, 2-3 [F#]-4, then C-2-3 [D#m]-4, A minor, 2 [C#]-D-2, [A#m] then E minor, [G#] 2-D [A#m]-2, C [C#]-2. Okay? And I know I sped it up there, but it's just to kind of show you what we're doing here. Other than that, this song is super easy, and I think once you get that little You know, that [A#m] little That'll be That'll be great. So, hopefully you enjoyed this tutorial.
