Hey guys, welcome back [B] to another episode of the mic class
Filming two videos in the same day because I'm a little behind on requests
So today I'm gonna teach you [F#] as you might have guessed by the title of the video is dead bird
[F#m]
[G]
[F#] [B] Off of the album Beach Boy its first song off the album, that's why I'm doing it first
[Bm]
So the way the song is structured you got your intro your verse [B] you got your chorus
You got your second verse and then you have your chorus a couple more times
[F#] You're gonna play
two different patterns
your intro is gonna be played through your verses too and
It's a little complicated, [B] but you'll get it with practice
So we're gonna do you can take your first finger and you're gonna put it on the second fret of the top string
[F#]
And [Em] you're gonna leave the other ones open [G] make sure you don't mute those other strings on accident
So you put your finger right [F#m] there and you're gonna play
[G] That's [F#] the your first thing on the second fret [F#m]
and the open a string
So [Bm] you [C#] play one and two and three [F#m] and four and
[F#] And then you're gonna [B] move your first finger down to the fourth fret of the a string and you're gonna play open
East ring on the top.
[E]
So it's gonna go and
[G#] All you're doing there is you're going
[E] open four open five open four [Em] open five [E]
and then you're gonna play
[B] You put your finger on the [E] fifth fret of the top string and leave the bottom string [A] open
One and two and three and four [F#m] and and then slide it down to the seventh fret of the [B] top string
one two, and three four
So it's gonna sound like this so far
[F#m] [E]
[A] [E]
[B] When you're playing the seventh
[G] When you're [B] on the seventh fret you're only gonna play one two
Three [A] and and lift your finger [B] and play the [E]
open
top string
[F#m] One and two and three and four [E] and one two three four
[A] One two, three four [B] and one two, and [E] three four
[B] So that's the intro you're gonna play it two times and then you're gonna play that throughout the entire first verse
When you get to the chorus, you're gonna do some [Bm] power chords.
The chords you're gonna need to know is
[F#] F sharp [B] [E] e
[F#] a
[A] [B] and B
[F#] And you're gonna play it just like this
[E]
[A] [B]
[F#] [E]
[A] [Bm]
[F#] [E]
[A] [B]
[F#]
[B] There you go, that's the chorus [F#] and then you're gonna play the second verse [F#m] which is just
You're [D] back to that same picking [F#m] pattern
[E]
[A] [B] [E]
[B]
And then you're gonna get to the chorus again
And this time you what you're gonna do is you're gonna palm mute [F#] you can take your hand
You're gonna put it down [E] here on the strings
So it's muted [F#] and you're gonna play the same [C#] chords
[E]
[A] [B]
[E] [C#]
[E] [A]
[Bm] [E]
Just like [Bm] that.
You're gonna play
the chorus twice
Palm muted [G#] and then you're gonna [G] open it back up and [F#] you're gonna play
Unmuted [D]
[E] [A]
[B] [F#] [Bm]
you play that twice.
So you got your [F#m] intro
[E] [A]
[E]
and then you got your [F#] chorus
[E]
[A] [B]
So with some practice it's a pretty [F#] easy song
You just [F#m] gotta
[E] Work [G#] on getting the picking down
Chorus is super simple.
There's four chords [F#] F sharp e a
[Bm] B
[F#]
And if you don't want to play e, I mean, they're all power chords.
So it's just
[G#] Three strings.
They're all on the top.
E [E] is just open top string and then second fret on the next two strings down
[F#] [B] [C#]
[E] [A] [B]
[Em] I [G#] hope this was [G] helpful guys
[F#]
That's all for now new video within the next week I promise
