Chords for How to Play Don't Stop Believing - Journey (cover) Easy 5 Chord Tune

I've got another really famous tune for you guys.
It's [N] called Don't Stop Believing by Journey.
I think I read somewhere a few years ago that it
was the most downloaded song in the world.
I don't know if that's still the case, but
at one time it was one of the most downloaded, the most downloaded song in the world, and I can see
why.
It's one of their best tunes, no question.
Journey had so many, but this is one of those.
So I've kind of stripped this down a little bit to make it easy for the channel, and I play it
in G, but I hope you guys enjoy it.
It's kind of a neat version, and it kind of fits my voice.
So the [G] chords, there's five chords.
The first one is G, _ _ _ _ [D] second one is D, _ _ _ [Em] there's an E minor, _ _
and then there's a [C] C, _ and there's also a [Bm] B minor.
_ _ So sometimes [Cm] you'll see me play that full bar B
minor, sometimes [Bm] you'll see me play the cheat.
[E] If you don't use the full bar and you play the cheat,
just make sure you only strum the strings that you're pressing, and if you have any questions
about the B minor or the cheat, there you can just go into my info, click on the chord help,
click on the note B, and it'll give you some instructions on how that goes.
Again, the chords
are [G] G, _ _ _ [D] D, _ _ E [Em] minor, _ _ [C] C, _ [E] there's the [Bm] cheat B minor.
_ _ Again, [B] info section, chord help [E] there, click on B,
and it'll show you a few little tricks there.

So anyway, _ _ there's a few little tricks that I do.
I'll just play it through,
and then I'll explain it to you.
So it's just a [G] basic_
_ _ [D] it _ _ _ _ [Em] _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ didn't really come off.
Let's try [G] it again. _
_ _ _ [D] _ There you go. _
[Em] _ _ _ [E] _ _ [C] _ _
Basic [G] runs.
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _
_ _ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ [Em] So all I'm doing [A] for the G [G] is just hitting the top string,
_ _ [A] and then you're _ [F#] gonna_
so all that is is a two plucks on [A] the A string, so it's open A,
and then second [B] fret, and then an open _ D [D] string just below it. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ Then you go into your D,
_ and [A] then it's just an open, and then right into the E chord.
[B] _ _ [Em] _ So just two_
open on this, the A string, so that's the second string [A] from the top,
open, and then put your [B] E minor on, and then just another second string,
_ which would be your A string.
So it's like this, _ _ and then a run of C.
So [A] it's open,
_ _ second [D#] fret, second string [B] from the top, _ and then third fret, [C] second string from the top,
and then right into your C.
_ I know [F#m] that sounds confusing, [G] but it's just G, _
_ [D] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Em] _
_ _ _ [C] _ _ _ _ _
[G] _ _ _ [A] _ _ [D] _ _
that's a [F#m] B minor.
_ _ _ _ [C] _
Play it again, _ [G] _ _ _ _ _
[D] _ _ _ _ _ [Em] _ _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _
_ _ [D] _ _ _ _ [Bm] _ _
_ _ _ _ [C] _ and again, you [E] can strum right through those.
Those are just
little tiny fills, [D] and they're _ just_
I just kind of threw them in there, because it does kind of
compliment the song a little bit, but you can definitely go_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Em] _ _ _ _
[C] Just strum right through it if you [G] like, until you feel comfortable with those notes. _
[D] _ _ _ [Bm] _ _ _ _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ _ I do a couple of different strums [D] in here, kind of _ _ _ _
_ [Em] _ just a nice light [C] brush up and down,
_ [G] _ _ _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ [C] _
but just a simple strum.
Keep it [G] simple for now.
_ [D] Just slow down, you know.
_ [Em] _ _ _ _ _
[C] _ So this [B] song is a good example of_
I'll throw in a couple of
different little strum patterns [C] there.
You guys always ask for exact strum [F#] patterns.
I'll be honest with you, my strum patterns change from time to time.
I like to kind of keep it fresh,
I like to keep it new, and I like to keep it my own a little bit too.
So that's why I more just
kind of demonstrate the main strum, but you'll see different things through the song.
