Hello [N] there all you video gaming pianists!
Welcome to smartgamepiano.com. I'm Sydney
and in this video we're going to be learning the first part of Dry Hands from Minecraft.
And there's going to be no counting in this video because it's a little artsy-fartsy and
C18, the composer, did whatever he wanted and kind of took liberties with this tune.
So we're going to do the same thing as we practice it.
I'm going to teach you the notes
and kind of teach you the pacing of it, but we're not going to count it strictly.
Okay?
[D] Let's take a listen first.
[B]
[F] [F#m]
[C#m]
[A]
[F#m]
And then it goes into the main melody part.
[A]
So basically we're
going to learn this just a little section by section.
First start with A, [E] B, G sharp,
followed [C#] by a C sharp somewhere [F#m] in [C#] there after the G sharp.
[A] Hold for a little bit.
[C#m] G sharp,
G sharp octaves quickly, followed by E, C sharp.
And then it's get a little crazy here.
Play G [A] and
A with your right hand, cross over with your left to hit [F] G, [C#m] C sharp, E, G sharp.
Okay?
[G#m] [A]
And
they're kind of just kind of do their own thing.
And I would start that G sharp out in [G#] between the
G sharp and A sharp in your left hand or in your right hand.
[A]
And after that, right hand, G sharp,
E, A.
[C#m] While left hand does C sharp and E.
And that C sharp will be in between the G sharp and E.
And
the E will be between
[A] E and A.
[C#m] [A]
And followed [F#m] by this chord, F sharp, A, E in the right hand.
Hit
that three times in the left hand, this F sharp, two below middle C.
Hold that for the rest of the
way through and play F sharp, [Bm] C sharp, D in the right [F#m] hand.
Let go of the D to hit A with your
second finger.
So it should be one, four, five to one, two, four.
[D] Okay?
So we're going to go over
that one more time and I'll tell you kind of like what the order you should play everything in.
[C] Remember there's no counting.
So be artistic.
So [F] A, B, G sharp, [F#m] C sharp in the left hand,
little pause, [C#m] the octave G sharp, C sharp.
Cross over with your left hand, right hand, [A] left hand,
right hand, left hand, left hand, right, left, right.
[F#m] Chord, one more chord.
Okay?
So I'm going
to do that one more time without talking.
So you can kind of play along with me and figure it out.
[D]
[F] [C#]
[C#m]
[A]
[F#m]
Okay?
That is the introduction for [N] dry hands.
It is my own arrangement.
There is a little more to
it and it is slightly out of tune in the game, but that's more of an aesthetic choice than a
mistake.
So if you like what you saw, keep practicing that.
Listen to the original track,
kind of copy it, or if you want, take your own liberties.
If you have any questions or concerns
about the way I taught this, this is the first time I've done anything like this.
Please let
me know below.
If you want a little more hints on what to do, I'd love to hear it, but as always,
happy practicing.
