Alright guys, this is Amos Doll Music and in today's lesson I'm going to teach you how
to play the super catchy tune called The Real Slim Shady by Eminem.
Super catchy motive, it's not that difficult, it's a repeating [A] 2 bar phrase that plays throughout
the entire song.
I'll give you a preview of this repeating [Cm] phrase, it goes like this, this is what you're
going to learn.
_ _ [Ab] _ [Fm] _ _ [Eb] _ _
[G] _ _ [Cm] Repeat.
[Fm] _ _ [Eb] _ _
[Ab] _ [G] _ _ [Cm] _ _ [C] _ Okay, let's get right into it.
So right now, [E] let's go ahead and break it up into parts to learn it.
So [Db] right hand starts in middle C here, [Cm] so middle C up to E flat, up to G, [Ab] A flat, up
to C, _ and then A flat.
That is the first part.
One more time for this [C] first part.
We're just going to break it up into two parts so it's easier to learn.
So one more time for the [Db] first part for the right hand.
So it goes middle C [Eb] up to E flat, G, [Db] A flat, up to C, _ [Ab] A flat.
And that's it for the right hand.
Left hand, we have five notes here, the five notes are okay, we start on the low C here,
so middle C, go down an [C] octave to C, go down another octave to that C, that's where we start.
So low C, [D] [Eb] D, [F] E flat, F, _ F, like that.
Those are the five notes for the first part.
One more time, it goes like [C] this, so it goes C, [D] [F] D, E flat, F, _ F.
And that's it for the left hand for this first part.
The two hands together, it goes [C] like this, so it goes C and C together, [Cm] _ G and [D] D together,
A flat and E [Ab] flat together, [F] C and F together, _ A flat [Fm] and F together, like that.
One more [C] time, it goes [Cm] together, [Ab] together, [F] together, together, [Fm] together, like that.
Moving on now to the second part, right [G] hand continues to the G, [Fm] and then A [Gm] flat, G, and
then fast A flat, [Fm] G, F, _ [G] and then G [B] down to the lower B natural.
And that's it, one more [G] time, it goes like this, it goes G, _ [Ab]
A flat, G, A flat, [F] G, [C] F,
G down to [B] the lower B.
And that's it for the right hand for the second part.
Once you get that right hand for the second part, left hand, we [Eb] have these following four
notes on the left hand, okay?
The four notes are E flat, E [D] flat, [G] D, up to G, and that's it.
So those are the four [Eb] notes.
One more time, it goes E flat, [D] E flat, D, [G]
G, and that's it.
Two hands together, it goes like this, G and [Eb] E flat together, _ A [Ab] flat and E flat together,
G and [G] D together, [D] _ [G] _
B and G together, like that.
One [Eb] more time, it goes _
[G] [Dm] like [G] _ _ that.
Back to back, the two parts will just be played like [Db] this, check it out, [Cm] it goes, _ [Ab] _ [F] _ [Fm] _
[Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ [G] _ _ [Cm] _ _ [F] _
_ [Fm] _ [Eb] _ [Ab] _ [G] _ _ etc.
You can build up the speed a [Cm] bit.

[G] _ _ [Cm] _ _ _ _ catchy stuff, okay?
It's not that difficult once you get that, it's [C] only that second half of it, the second
part, it goes, [G] that _ [B] _ fast [G] transition _ [Bm]
has [Db] to be articulate, so you have to practice the
agility for that, so practice slowly.
[Bb] _
_ _ [B] If [G] it's not [Fm] smooth, like that, [G] no point, so make it smooth.
_ [B] _ [Fm] Articulate, okay?
[G] _
[B] Like that, okay?
So yeah, [Cm] just like [Fm] that.
_ [Eb] _
_ [Ab] _ [G] _ _ [Cm] _ [Ab] _ [Fm] _ _
[Eb] _ [Ab] _ [G] _ _ [Cm] Etc. _
Okay, so yeah, that's pretty much it, so make sure when you play it, _ [F]
left hand is short
as well, give that kind of sense of, I [Cm] guess, mysteriousness to it as well.
So it's like, [Ab] _ [Fm] _ _ [Eb] _ _
[G] _ _ [Cm] _ _ [F] _ _ [Fm] _ [Eb] _
[Ab] _ [G] _ _ [Cm] _ awesome stuff, so yeah, you play that for the entire song and that's pretty
much it, okay?
