Alright, hello to all of my viewers out there, Jabar Brown here.
Today's lesson will be by the Clark Sisters, Twinkie Clark with the Clark Sisters, live in Charlotte, [Bb] to be exact.
Alright, so they did an older song, Endow Me, and we'll be in the key of B flat.
And I am playing the Roland [C] RD-700SX.
The sound that I'm going to use for this lesson is the SX-E piano, which is electric piano one.
I also have the Superior [Dm] Grand.
Alright.
[D] [Eb] [G]
[Ab] [Bb] [Eb]
[Bb] Alright, so what I'm going to do, I also made a track.
I will try to get around to that and show a few examples.
What I'm going to do now is play through just a little bit of it without the track, and then we'll come back and we'll break down some chords.
Now for this lesson, we want to take more of an advanced approach.
Alright, so let's get started.
[Gm]
[G]
[Cm] [Gm]
[G] Alright.
So in the beginning, [C] we start [Gm] with G.
What we want to do here is [Gb] flam from our F.
[Gm] So we flam [G] from our F to our G, [Bb] B [Cm] flat, C.
Alright, now immediately [Gm] after the C, we want to go into a chord.
[G]
[Gm] Okay, the chord is D in my left hand, [Eb] E flat, G, B flat, and D in the right hand.
And what you want to do right [Gm] there is kind of stab that chord or hit the chord if you will.
And we want to go to [E] several ways, [G] at least a few ways to approach this.
Alright, no doubt as he was playing, he took different approaches.
It wasn't always the same chord.
Alright, and perhaps we'll get into some substitutions [Gb] or something of sort in just a moment.
But [Eb] immediately after this.
[Gm] [G]
[Gm] [Ab] Alright, [Gm] so we have [G]
[Gm] in the left hand, I'm going to play G, B flat, and D.
Alright, in the right hand, I want to play two chords, the G, B flat, and D.
[G]
Alright, and I want to go to F and C.
[Gm] Alright.
[Ab] I want to sustain my left hand chord.
[Bb] Alright, and we'll isolate the first one.
Alright, and once again, [Gm] we have [E] another chord that we'll hit on, and that [Eb] is E flat, G, B flat, and D in the left hand.
[Bb] The right hand, let's put our thumb on F and G.
The B flat, D, and the F.
Alright.
And sometimes [A] I'll do my thumb [Bb] on C and D.
It's a personal [Gm] preference.
Alright.
[Bb]
Alright, now.
[Cm] [Gm] So we go [Ab] back into the same thing.
The only difference is, we'll either [G]
use
[C] [Gm] [Bb] Okay, or going back into it, we'll start with the B flat.
Alright.
[B] So we just kind of play around with that [Cm] in [Bb] the beginning.
[Gm] [G]
[Bb] [Eb] Alright, [C]
[Gm] [G] [Gm]
[G]
[Bb] [Gm] so we're continuing to do that.
[G] [Ab]
Alright.
[Eb] Now also, what [F] happens
[Gm] Alright.
So as we get ready to go into the song
[Am] Alright, one of the movements that I want to go [Bb] over is
[Cm] This one right here.
So on the [Bb] left hand, we want to take the B flat, start there.
Alright, and the only thing we're [C] going to do is go
[Gb] Alright, B flat, [E] C, and D.
[Cm] And back to the C.
Alright.
And the right hand, simultaneously, [B] we want to [G] start with the G.
Alright, and this movement is G, A, B flat, and back to the A.
[Eb] Okay.
[Bb] Alright, [B] so let's back up just a
