[A] [E] If you want to [A] ride a rainbow, [E] come with me, and I will take you to the magic purple sea.
Maybe we will find a thousand shillonga fish, when you eat [A] them they will grant [E] your every wish,
and if you want your friends to come, then bring them all along.
Hi [F#] there, I was just going to [N] do a quick lesson about how to play a version of John Martin's
Fairy Tale Lullaby.
This is in standard tuning, there are other versions and possibly his original
was in an open tuning, but some people may not want to detune their guitar and this [E] is just for
a [F] simple version, it's just done in standard [E] tuning, so it's pretty easy to pick up.
So once again the tuning is standard, it's E, [A] A, [D]
[G] G, [B] [E] B.
[N] So the initial intro to the song involves playing the open [E] bottom string and then playing the top
string on the fourth fret and hammering on to the fifth [A] and [F] then playing the [E] fourth again and then
open.
So once again, [A]
[E]
this is [A]
followed by the open [Em] second string and then the third string fretting
the [E] first fret all the way through there.
[A] [E]
[F#]
[N] For the slide you're playing the third string on the second
fret and the fifth string on the fourth fret, followed by the open top string [A]
and then sliding
up [N] to the fourth and sixth fret [A] respectively,
[E]
first and sixth strings open.
So once again,
[A]
[E]
[A]
[E]
[A]
[B] [E]
and then that's repeated with different fills as you go through the
[F#] instrumental piece in between
each verse.
So those involve different hammer-ons and pull-offs on the [B] top string, [F#] so different
variations [E] like this,
[A] [E] this,
[F#] [E]
[A]
and then [E] this one, [A]
and then finally [E]
[A] that's playing the fifth [E] and the seventh.
[A]
[E] [Am]
[Em]
[F#] So you can play those in combination and pretty much any combination you [F] like.
[F#] [E] And [A]
[E]
[A] [E] then
[A] [E]
[A] [E]
[A]
the part for the chorus involves the [Dm] first finger on the second fret of the second
string and your [F#] ring finger on the [F] fourth fret of the [N] third string and playing and just taking your
first [F#] finger on and off, [B] so like [E] this.
So [C] in real time like [E] this.
[A]
[G#]
So with lyrics [E] on top.
If you want to [A] ride a rainbow [E] come with me, I will take you to [A] the magic
[E]
purple sea.
Maybe we will find [A] a thousand [E] sugar fish, when you eat them [A] they will grant your
[E] every wish.
And if you want your friends to come then bring [A] them [E] all along.
[A] [E]
[A]
[E]
[A] And so on, [N] and that's it.
