[N] Hey everyone on YouTube, it's James and today I'm going to be teaching you guys how to play
Go the Distance from Disney's Hercules.
It's a really nice song and it's got a lot of cool chords and a lot of neat movement.
So I'm going to start off with the melody.
It starts off on an F [D] sharp and [D#]
does that again.
[F#] [C#]
[D] [F#]
[C#] But it's kind of boring if we just do that so we're going to add some nice chords to it.
So to [F#m] F sharp we go to the A then we're going to play this [G]
and that's a G chord.
I'm just playing a G in my left hand, D, G and B.
Then to an A [A] chord,
[Bm] [D] a G chord.
So [A] [D]
let's do that again.
[G] The [A] A chord has a C sharp, E and A and the D [D] chord has F sharp, D and A.
[G] [D]
[A] [D] We're going to do that again.
[G] On the third time we go [A] up to an A chord but this time we go [G] up [D] to the C sharp to [A] [Bm]
a B minor
seven and that's just a D chord.
F sharp, A and D over a B.
Next is a really nice chord, a G major seven and [G]
that's just a B minor over a G.
To an A sus, we're going to drop this note down to a C sharp to make it a regular A chord.
So let's do that whole part [F#m] again.
So F sharp, A, [G]
B on the top, G chord.
[A] [D] Do that again.
[G]
[D] Then go up to the D again.
[G] This time go up to the C sharp up here.
[A] [Bm] B minor seven, D, A, to that G major seven.
[G] [A] [F#m]
[A] [D] Let's do that again.
This time we come up [G] to [Bm]
a B minor.
That's just B and B and D.
Just three notes.
Then next we go, [G]
[F#] [Bm] [D]
if you can reach this it would be nice.
[G] [A]
That's what I played in my [G] arrangement.
If [A]
you can't do that just go
[B] [G]
[A] [G]
[A] [G]
Or if you can reach that, or you can just roll this tenth.
G, D and B.
[A] [G]
[B]
So all that I'm doing is F sharp, G, F sharp, G, [B] E.
[A] With A's in my [G] left hand.
[A]
[G]
[A] Now this next part.
[D]
Actually, everyone can reach this tenth.
And I'm rolling it in anyway.
So then you go F sharp, G, A.
[G]
[G] [A]
[D] [G]
[A] [D]
[G] And then we're almost done with the song.
After we did that, [A] then we're going to go [D] F sharp.
You can play an octave if you want.
Or you can just play the single note.
I'm just rolling this F sharp, D and A [D] in my left hand.
Coming down to the D.
And [G] then playing G and E minor.
[Em]
G, D and E.
Over a G.
It's kind of like a G sixth.
