Alright, new lesson.
Alright, so this is, if you're trying to spice up, I do fake jazz, I won't lie about it.
But, people who don't play piano think I can play jazz, but it's just because I have some tricks.
So, if you're just learning, this isn't the video for you.
Alright, what I'm doing is, the basics, okay, so what I'm going to show you how to do is,
[G]
[F] [G] [F]
[Dm] [Gm] [F] it's like a [A#] 1-6-2-5 progression.
If you don't know what that [F] means, it basically, okay, in F, or in any key, you have numbers.
In F though, right, you have [G] 1, [A] 2, 3, [B] 4, whoops, [F] sorry, [A] 2, [C] 3, 4, 5, 6, [F] 7, 1, the octave.
[D] [F]
All I'm doing is 1, [D] 6, [G] 2, [C] 5, and I'm spicing it up, making chords on top of it.
[Am] Alright, for the people that know how to play piano, the chords I'm doing with my right
[F] hand, primarily I'm doing, in my left hand, just the root, [Am] and my right hand I'm doing
3, 5, [C] 7, 9.
[F] So in F, that would be [Am] A, C, E, [C]
G.
Now [D] for the [Dm] 6, I'm just doing a D minor 7, D, F, A, C.
The 2, I go back to the,
[Gm] I'm [A#] doing 3, 5, 7, root.
[G] So, G, [Gm] B flat, D, F, G.
[G]
[C] Then, for the 5, the C, I'm doing, in my right hand, the 3, 5, 7, 9.
E, [E] G, B flat, D.
[G]
So, a great thing to do is to practice doing just like the 1, 3, 5, 7 in your right hand,
and when you got that down, just do 3, 5, 7, 1, and then when you have that down, do
3, 5, 7, 9 in your right hand.
Just constantly build, you know, [F]
just be creative.
Okay, now the trick here is actually in your left hand.
If you see, so I gotta get the 6 from F.
[C#] So I go [D] [C#] [D] chromatic.
[F] [D]
[F] So the basic progression without anything fancy would be, [D] [C]
[F] [G] [C] [F]
[D] which is fine, [G] [C] [F]
[D] [F] but now, [D] [G]
[C#] [F]
[G] [C] whatever [F] you want.
So all I'm doing is to the D, the 6, before I hit the 6, [D] chromatic up to it.
Now I gotta get [G] down to the 2, [G#] [G] chromatic down.
[F] [Dm] [G] [C] [G] Now from the G, the 2, I gotta get [C#] to the 5.
[C] Chromatic down to the [F] 5.
So, [D] chromatic up to the [G#] D, [G] chromatic down to the G, [C] chromatic down to the C.
[F#] [F] Chromatic down to the [G#] F, [G] D, C, or [C] G, C.
[F]
[D] [G] [F#] [F] [G]
[D] [C]
[F] [D] [G]
[F] [D] [G] [C]
[F] [D] [G]
[F] Now, I don't think like that.
I mean, when I learned this, it's because I learned that because, whatever, I sat here
long enough and it became comfortable.
I didn't think like that, and you shouldn't either.
You know, you don't [C] want to just copy.
It should feel, you should learn it through feel, you know, you get better and naturally
you're gonna do something like that.
It just makes sense.
It's a natural progression to do that.
So, I'll show you both hands.
So this is [F] just F, [D] chromatic up to [G#] D, chromatic [G] down to G, [C] chromatic down to C.
[F#] Chromatic [C#] down to F.
[G#] [G] [C]
[C#] [Gm] [C]
[F] [D] [Gm]
[Em] [C]
Augmented 5 chords.
C, E, G sharp.
[F] [Gm] So you can do this for [F] 20 minutes, whatever.
[G] Entertain yourself.
[D]
[C] [F] [A#]
[F] Or, [Gm]
[C] and there, whatever on the augmented 5 chord.
[F] [D]
[C] [Dm] [Gm] [F]
Main [F#m] to me, [Gm] apply my [F] love.
[B] [A#] [D#]
[F] [Gm] [C] [F]
[D] [G] [C]
Augmented [Am] 5.
So that's it.
I'm just doing a chord with my right hand.
Nothing [F] even fancy.
I could do triads, right?
These are basic triads.
So remember, our progression is F, [D] D minor, [G] G [C] minor, C, 7.
Right?
[F]
F, [Dm] D, [Gm] G minor, [C] C.
[F]
[Dm] [Gm]
[G] [F#] [F]
[G#] [Gm] [G] [F#]
[F] [Dm] [Gm]
[F#] [F] [A#] [F]
The claw [C] [D] creates [C] chords.
Lock it in.
Alright.
Good job.
