All right, hello everybody Jabar Brown here. _
_ Today's lesson will be by Judith McAllister,
_ Like the Dew.
We'll be in the key of F _ and I have the SX Electric Piano 1 on the Roland
RD _ -700SX _ and I have a little track to kind of help us out.
We'll use that periodically.
_ _ _ The objective here is to make sure we solidify a nice _ foundation to get us through the song.
All right, so I'm going to play through a little bit of it, some of the intro. _ _
_ Please
excuse my mistakes if there be any _ and then we'll break down some chords.
All right, so
here we go. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Dm] _ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _
[A] _ _ [F] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _ _
[A] _ _ [F] _ _ _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _ _ _
[Bb] _ _ [F] _ _ _ _ [Dm] _ _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ All right, so we'll stop right there.
_ Going into the intro, _ _ _ _ we have in my
left hand, I have F _ [Dm] and the right hand I have D and A. _ _ _
_ _ Okay, [Bb] _ _ then we transition to D in
the left hand.
The right hand we now have A, _ B flat and F. _ _ _ _ _ _
All _ _ right, now we have B
flat in the left hand.
The right hand will use F and D. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ Now we have F in our left hand
and the right hand we have D _ _ and A. _
_ _ [E] _ _ _ _ Now at this point we have _ E and G in my left hand.
In the right hand, [B] B [G] flat, _ D flat, A _ and G.
_ _ _ Okay, so we'll slow that down just a little
bit.
_ [Bb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Then we go into [F] the song. _ _ _ _
_ [Am] _ _ _ _ [Gm] _ _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] _ _ [F] _ _ _
_ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ [Gm] _
_ _ [Dm] _ _ _ All right, so what I'm doing, [F] left hand _ _ _ I have F, A,
C and E.
In the right hand I'm going to use two chords [Gm] while simultaneously still holding
[F] _ _
this left hand chord.
All right, those two chords in the right [A] hand will be E, [Dm] _ D and
F _ _ [C] and _ _ then G, C and E.
[Dm] _ [F] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ So [C] _ _
_ actually [Dm] you're only going to hold _ _ _ _ _ _ the left hand chord _ _ while
hitting the second chord in the right hand.
Okay, so I'll make that correction.
The first
chord is by itself [F] _ _ [C] and _ _ _ _ then we'll move to _
[F] _ [C] _ _ _ left hand.
I have _ [Gm] D, F, G, [Dm] A and C.
_ _ _ [C] _ We'll
take the same [F] concept, _ _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ _ okay, but we have the two [F] chords, _ _ [C] _ _ all right, but we hit the second
chord and the left hand chord simultaneously.
All right, [Dm] _ _ the first chord here is F, _ A and
D in the right hand.
Okay, F, A and D. _ _
[C] _ _ Then we land on that left _ _ hand [Bb] chord as well [C] as _
_ _ _ _ C. _ _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _ _
Right here I [Am] have [Gm] _ _ C _
[Am] _ and A _ by itself.
_ [Gm] _ _ _ _ Then I have D and B flat.
Now what I [Ebm] do here, hit
these two [Am] [Gm] chords, _ _ _ all right, and immediately after I hit the [Am] second chord, [Gm] _ _
_ _ _ all right, so
we have, [F] _ _ _ _ [Am] _ _ _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _ all right, I isolate [Am] those two chords [Gm] _ _
and _ you'll notice I have the chord [B] actually
[G] in my left hand is really G, D and G.
So we have two octaves with G and D in the [Gm] middle
and my right hand is A and [Bb] B flat, D and F.
_ All right, so the key here really is just
[Bm] the touch, okay.
[F] _ [Gm] _ _ _
_ _ All right, so we'll do [F] _ _
that again.
_ _ _ [Gm] _ _ _
_ _ All right, _ _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ here's a movement that we
can use for that part, _ all right, which _ in the left hand we're going to walk up from
[E] D, [Fm] E, F, [Bb] _ _ _ _
_ D, E, [Gm] F, [A] G and A.
_ The [B] right [Bb] hand, _ _
[G] _ [F] _ _ [Bbm] we'll start with the B flat, _ _ [C] B flat, C, [Gm] _ _
[E] D, _ [Bb] E and F, _
all right.
_ _ _ _ _ [Em] _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ But when we hit our [Bb] last notes in both hands, _ _ we're going to put the B flat right here, _
so it should sound like, _ _ _ _ _ okay. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ And then we go back into [Am] it. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ And that's something else that you can add too, _ _ _ all right.
So you have the first two chords,
what we can do there, just throw this in there too, _ _ _ _ _ all right, that movement. _
_ [C] _ _ _ And so [F] what I'm
doing, [Am] _ _ _ I let [F] F, A and C ring out, okay, and I release the E on my left hand chord _ _ [C] and _ _ _ _ _ I twang
[Gm] off of my D to my E _ with the G on the top, so it should sound like that, _ _ _ _ all right.
[Am] You put that
together, _ _ _ _ okay, _ and we'll do the same thing [Dm] here, _ except _ _ _ _ _ _ _ this time you can actually keep the whole
chord down in your left hand.
And what you want to do is take the [Bb] same [C] concept, _ twang off of your G
to your A, _ _ _ _ _ C on the top, _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ _ [Em] _ _ [Dm] _ [Am] _
_ _ [D] _ _ _ _ _ _
[Gm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ all right.
So that's pretty much the
