We're gonna learn money by Pink Floyd and that's on the album dark side of the moon, which was made in 1973

Alright, here we go
_ _ _ So here's the first part of the riff
_ _ [F#] _ [A] _ [Bm] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [B] _ _ _ _ [Dm] _ [B] So this riff is quite tricky and it's not made any easier by the fact that it's in 7-4 time
We can break this riff down into three parts and the first part is based on a b5 power chord shape
_ _ _ _ _ So for this first part, we're gonna take a look at the picking now
We do a down stroke on the a [F#] string which is the one your index [B] finger is on _ [G] and then we play down up down
between the G D and [B] a strings
_ _ [Em] _ _ [B]
So, let's take a look at that all together
_ _ _ [F#] So that's the first part now the second part
We start out by putting our index finger on the second fret of the low e string and we'll play two five
_ [A] _
And then we'll play two five on the next string
[B] _ [D] _
[B] So that's the second part now when we put this riff together
We just alternate between the first part and the second part two times.
Let's take a look at that _

[F#] second part and
[D] _ [G] After that, we're gonna play the third part.
Now.
This part is pretty simple
we're just gonna go two five two [B] on the a string and
_ [D] _ [B] _ Then we'll finish off by playing the second part the first part and the second part _ _ _

_ [Bm] _ When you put that all together, this is what you get

So [D] _ [G] if you find yourself having trouble lining up with the original recording when you're playing along
It might be because you're not quite feeling that seven time signature feel so be sure to just count along
With the original recording until you can really feel and [F#] internalize the seven. _ _ _ _
Here's the next part of that riff _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ [Bm] _ So we'll start out with the first shape f-sharp [F#] 5
_ _ And [E] _
we're gonna pick the notes out of that individually starting on the D string we're gonna go [F#] down
down up down _ _ _ _
So you see for the down up down part?
We just [E] descended from the D [Fm] string to the low E string
Let's take one more look at that [G] down
down up down
[F#] The _ _ _ next part goes like this
[A] _ _
_ _ [Bm] So first we'll play the open a string and the fourth fret of that same string
_ [C#m] _ [F#] And then we're gonna roll our ring finger over to the D string and we're gonna play the fourth fret then the third fret
_ [F] _
All together that [A] looks like this [C#] _ [F#] _ [F] _ _
[Em] and we're using down strokes for all of them.
Let's take one more look at that

_ _ _ [Em] now [G#m] we're gonna be using the second chord shape [Em] e5 and
_ _ _ _ _ [N] The picking for this is down up down going from the D to the E string just like on the f-sharp 5 chord
[E] _ _ _ _ Let's take one more look at that down up down
_ And now we have one last riff which brings us [F#] right back to the beginning of the whole tune
we start out by placing our middle finger on the third fret of the low E string and
_ [A] Then on the a string we're gonna play zero two [B] and then we're gonna play the D string open

_ So when you put that together, this is what [B] you get [G] and _
_ _ [E] we can play all of that using down strokes as well
Now we're ready to put this whole thing together
