_ _ Hey everybody, [N] this is a solo that I wrote for Glenn of Spector Sound Studios.
We did a collaboration video with some other YouTubers for a song called Moon on Water.
Definitely check out the full video on his channel, it turned out really really awesome.
I'll leave a link for that in the description below.
[G] Right now I'm going to give you a quick [Ab] lesson on how to play a part of my lead, so let's
get to it. _
Hey guys, how's it going?
I just wanted to give you a quick tutorial on how to play this suspenseful, buildy type
lick that I wrote for this lead for Glenn.
It goes like this.
_ [E] _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ [N] _ And I just kind of want to show you how to practice this efficiently, so that way you're
able to get it to speed as quickly as you can.
So what I like to do is first start with the first four notes, [Ab] _ _ _ _ and just play those, don't
play anything else, just kind of get those down first. _ _
_ [Db] _ _ _ And since these are kind of like _ [Eb] octaves [Ab] of each other, _ [Db] _ _
I basically like to think about
this as if I'm a piano player, you know when they're playing those chords and they're just
kind of moving them but they got that like locked grip.
It's kind of the same thing when you do this part.
[Ab] I just kind of aim for this note, _ _ and [B] then I [Eb] kind of let my muscle memory take over from
the prior shape and let the pinky collapse where it [Db] needs to. _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ I just keep doing that over and over.
And once you get that, basically then you can move on to the next shape, [E] _
_ and _ _ _ _ _ then on
to the next one. _ _ _ _
But with this one there's a slide in there which is a little bit different, and that's
this is so I can _ _ basically make it so I can do a downstroke on the highest note, _ _ [A] _ [G]
[Abm] just
as I have throughout the whole lick already.
So what I'm doing is when I get to the 11th fret of the B string, I do an upstroke, and
then I slide to 12, and then I'm able to do that downstroke accent on that 14th fret [C] high E string.
_ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ _ [Am] _ _ _
[Db] And then from there, it's nice because I'm able to do inside [Am] picking on the very last
_ [Abm] _ _ [N] _ part, and then hopefully get that half harmonic that [B] I do _ whenever _ _ _ [D] _ _ _ [Ab] _
I can hit it.
So basically, yeah, just practice those two strings at a time, go slowly, and at the end
you can bring it all together.
_ [E] _ _ [A] _ [Abm] _ [A] _ _
[Abm] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _ [N] _ _
_ _ So just try that, you know, again, like I said, work on it slowly, you know, just practice
with the metronome if you can, or a guitar pro, or whatever, and yeah, just have some
fun with it, alright?

_ _ [E] _ _ [Dm] _ _ _ _
[Ab] _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ _ _ What [Abm] a [A] fool, _ _ _ for [E] tomorrow, [B] _ _ [Abm] what it's [Gb] like to be young.
