[F] Hello guys, this is Amonthol Music, and in today's lesson,
I'm going to teach you how to play this song called
I Want To Break Free by Queen.
Okay?
Give you a preview of what you're going to learn.
It's the awesome main theme [E] section.
Goes like this.
[A]
[E]
[B] [A]
[E] Yeah, you can repeat that, okay?
With other improvisations.
Yeah,
[A]
[E]
[B]
[A]
[E] you can play around with it.
It's a pretty awesome song.
Okay?
Anyway, let's [N] get right into it.
So, here we go.
We're breaking it up into three parts,
so it's easier to learn.
Here we go.
So the first part goes like this.
Right hand starts on the B here,
[E] middle C here, go up to the B.
So B, [Ab] E, F sharp, F sharp, G [Abm] sharp.
[E] Back down to B, E, [D] F sharp, [Bb] A, G sharp.
And [E] that's it for the right hand for this first part.
Okay, let's do it again.
So one more time.
It goes B, E, F sharp, F sharp, G sharp.
B, [D] E, F [Dbm] sharp, A, G sharp.
[Abm] That's it for the first part for the right hand.
Once you get that left hand, two chords here.
The two chords are [E] two E major chords,
which is E, G sharp, B.
So two of them.
Okay, so with these two E major chords in mind,
the two ends together, it goes like this.
Right hand starts, [Bm] G [E] sharp and E major together.
And the right hand continues.
G sharp and E major together.
Just like that.
Okay, one more time.
So it goes like this.
Together.
Together.
And there you have it.
Okay?
So yeah, moving on to the second part,
right hand continues.
We have this triplet section.
It goes B, E, [D] F sharp, F sharp, [E] A, G [Ab] sharp, F sharp, A,
G sharp, F sharp, A, G sharp, F sharp, F sharp,
[Em] G sharp, F sharp, E, [Bm] F [E] sharp, F sharp, E, [Em] C sharp, B.
That's it for this second [N] part.
So quite a lot of notes for this right hand,
so let's do it again.
So it goes like this.
There's a pattern to it actually, it's [Em] not hard.
So it goes B, [Bm] E, F sharp, F sharp,
and then the three note, A, G sharp, [Ab] F sharp for four times.
One, [Db] two, three, four.
[Bm] And then F [E] sharp, G sharp, F sharp, E, like that.
[Bm] And then F sharp, [E] F sharp, E, C sharp, B, like that.
Okay, so that's that for the right hand for the second part.
We want to get that left hand,
three chords, the three chords are E major,
which is E, G sharp, B.
Second chord, [A] A major, which is A, C sharp, E.
And [E] third chord, E major again, so you know.
Okay, so remember, so E major, A major, E major.
Those are the chords.
The two [Em] hands together for the second part goes like this.
Right hand starts, [Bm] A [E] and E major together,
F sharp and F, A [A] major together,
B and E [E] major together, like that, okay?
One more time, it goes like this.
Together,
[A]
together.
[E] Yeah, back to back, the two parts we've learned right now,
goes like this.
[A]
[E] Okay, moving on to the third and last part,
right hand goes up to [Abm] E, D sharp,
up to A, G sharp, A, [Gb] G sharp, E, F sharp, [A] E, like that.
Okay, the break [E] free part.
Okay, one more time, it goes E, D sharp,
up to A, G sharp, A, [Dbm] G sharp, [Bm] E, [E] F sharp, E.
That's it for the right hand.
Left hand, three chords, the three chords are [B] B major,
B, D sharp, F sharp.
Passing to the second [A] chord is A major,
A, C sharp, E,
and third chord passes to [E] E major, which is E, G sharp, B.
So these three chords changes a bit more quicker
than the other [B] parts.
So B major, [A] A [E] major, E major.
Turn together, it goes like this, right hand starts,
D sharp, B [B] major together,
A and A major [A] together,
E and E [E] major together.
Yeah, you can see that the left hand changes the chord
a bit quicker than the other two parts.
Okay, one more time, it goes,
[B] together, two, three, [A] four, together,
[E] together.
That's it, back to back,
all three parts will be played like this, check it out.
[A]
[Dbm] [E]
[B]
[A] [E]
Yeah, awesome stuff.
So once you get that, you can repeat that.
[F] But once you got this melody in chords,
or the notes in [B] the rhythm,
then you can [Dm] start to think of other improvisation
and decoration patterns to make [N] it more awesome.
So the chords are pretty spread out.
So there's a lot of stuff that you can [E] improvise on.
You can do like rhythmic patterns,
[F] you can do octave and arpeggio patterns,
okay, it's really up to you.
And right hand, you're gonna harmonize
the bass on the chords too, okay.
Anyway, [E] you can be like,
[A]
[E]
[B] [A]
[E]
yeah, play around with it, it's pretty awesome.
Okay, but anyway, [B] that's pretty much it.
