Hey guys, I got a couple requests to play so it goes by Mac Miller
it's pretty much a
Just one melody on a marimba
It's
essentially a C chord [Dm] and a D minor
[C] And he basically just kind of arpeggiates it
like so
[Dm]
[G]
[C]
[A] [G] [Dm]
[G] [G] Right, so it's just that back and forth.
Um, your right hand is going to be
Not necessarily matching I'd really to be on or your left hand rather
I'm not a hundred percent sure what he's doing with his left hand
But what I kind of find myself doing when I'm playing the song [C] it just kind of just kind of mirror, you know
[Am] [Dm]
you know, I gotta I gotta work around this tripod here with my left hand, but
That's pretty much [Am] your left hand
[C] for most of the song [A] just also going back [C] between this [Dm] C and
[C] D minor and
then
you know that'll pretty much go the whole song and then towards the end comes that
you know kind of grandiose outro with these
synthetic strings and and kind of this huge orchestral
Ensemble that really brings the song to a good close.
But again, that's just a continuation of his
Chords that he was playing and he's just now playing them one in octaves
What you don't know what an octave is
That's a C to a C right or [D] a D to a D.
It's a whole
[C]
You know whole key so he'll start that on
And I'll play it with two hands since this keyboard doesn't pick up
you know sensitivity so well, but [Am]
[D] [Dm] [C]
[Dm] [C]
right so that's just C a
[A]
[D] [Em] G E and [D] then this is gonna start the second progression D
[Dm] [F] F
Octave [Dm] up
To the next D and
then a [C] C and
Then [F] you're gonna start over and then he'll actually tend to work it up in each [Em] bar will go
an octave higher, you know, so by the end of it you'll be getting and
[E]
And then by the end of the song you'll hear [A] all three of them come in [E] like [D] [Fm] and then I run I run out of keys
Here, but that's kind of the gist of it
Playing it on a piano can be a little strange just because you don't get the exact [C] sound you want,
[Dm]
[C] right?
But other than that, it's a pretty straightforward song just to summarize.
It's a C.
I know some people are saying
Oh, that's a C, but you just modify it to play it like that
So it goes done done done done done done
Done done done [Dm] done [Bb] done done done done [Dm] right?
[F] And then again, so just follow that kind of pattern with your left hand
You necessarily don't even need a left hand.
Technically.
I don't really think the song does I've listened to it a bunch
I don't really hear one.
I just think it's a melody those synth strings and you know that drum track he has in the back
Which kind of gives it that?
simplistic feeling but
Other than that, I think you have pretty much everything you need to play
So it goes so I hope that helped and I hope you took something from this and keep commenting songs that you all learn next Thanks guys
