Hi everyone, today I'm going to teach you how to play the intro to Tears in Heaven on the ukulele.
Just got it, it's freaking amazing.
Anyways, this is how it sounds and then I'll show you how to-
[C#m] [D]
[A] [D] [B]
[Am]
[E] [D]
[B]
[Em] [G]
[A] [C] All right now to play this, adjust the camera a little.
[Am] Standard [G] tuning, [D] you're going to start with an A chord which is your middle finger on the top
fourth string, [Am] second fret, index finger on the first fret, second or third string, sorry.
Show them all the way down.
You're going to go down to the fourth fret of your first string and
[C#m]
hammer on and pull off to the- on the fifth [Am] and go up to the second string.
[A] [B]
[C#m] Okay and then from there you go into this, don't really know what it's called but you're going to
bar and the fourth, these three strings.
You're going to put your ring finger on the seventh fret,
[C#]
[E] strum down [F#] and then go to the ninth [C#m] on [F#] your [C#m] first string and [G#] [F#m]
go to a some kind of a minor, I think E
which is pointer finger, fourth fret first string, middle finger, second string fifth fret
and then ring finger up and over one.
You get the pattern.
You're going to strum down and then [A#]
[A] [G#] [E]
[F#m]
[A]-
the first [F#m] two strings.
[G]
Then it's going to have a [D#] cool little [A]-
[F#] which is [D#] you just bar the first two
strings and slide from the first fret to [B] the second [Am] and open [A] and [G] then you're going to put your
pointer finger on the first fret third string [C#m] then [B] use your [F#m] middle finger to hammer on
[G] second fret second [C#m] string.
[F#]
Hammer on [A#] then you take it off.
[G#m]
[F#m] You're going to go into this little number,
still don't know what this is called.
You're going to bar all [C#] four then ring finger on the fourth fret
on- you're going to bar the second fret, ring finger on the first string fourth fret, strum down,
[G#] hit the last string or the first string [C#] again.
[F]
Then you're going to go into a A again but this
time you're going to add your pinky on [B] the fourth fret,
[A] down, [C] then you take the pinky off and you need
to put your ring finger on the second [A] fret.
Take it off, pluck, [B]
[A] second [E] [Am] fret [B] open, second fret hammer on to the
fourth.
[E] [B] [A] Okay and then it's going to go into this slide thing where put your- I guess you can do it
like that or however you want to.
Put your- I put my middle finger on the second fret third string
and second fret first string and [C#m] then
[E] one slide up from [G#m] second to four pluck the first string.
[Bm]
[C#m] [B]
[C#m] [G] Okay so now all together [A] it's - [E] [F#m]
[D]
[A] [E]
[A] it starts over [B] again.
So that's how you play the intro to Tears
in Heaven and I guess the chorus on the ukulele.
