[N] Hi everybody, Jerry Donkers here.
First of all I want to thank you very much for your kind comments on me playing the Nibus Review.
_ _ I got a lot of questions, how do I play that, what do I do?
So what I'm going to do now is show you what I do and hope you like it, hope you can pick up some proper inspiring from it. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ Let's start with my right hand technique.
What I do is I play the bass or the root note of the chord with my thumb and embellish the rest with my fingers.
[C] I _ _ [D] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [C] hope _ [Em] _ _ _
[G] _ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _ _ [F] _
_ _ _ you pick that up.
[F#] Close to my right hand again.
[E] _ _ [C] _ _ _ [Em] _
_ _ _ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ [Dm] _
_ _ _ [G] _ _ [F] _ _
[G] Very simple, root.
_ [Gm] _ _ _ [C] _ _
_ _ _ That's what I do with my right hand. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Alright, _ [G] let's go through the left hand chords, left hand movements.
_ This song starts out with a C major 7th.
C, [Em] G, B, [Gm] E, G.
[C] _ _ _
It opens up to an E minor 7th.
E, [Em] B, D, G, B. _ _ _ _ _
Up to G minor 7th.
G, D, [A#] F, [Gm] Bb, D, G.
Barre. _
_ _ And then to [C] C7 [A#] or [C] b9th.
C, [E] E, [C#m] Bb, [C] Db.
_ [A#] _ Like that.
[A] A little barre on the [C] 2nd.
Add the C and D.
_ [A#] Db, I'm sorry.
_ F major [F] 7th. _ _ _
A little awkward with my thumb over here.
Let's put it into the picture. F.
You can also do it like this.
_ F chord with a ring in E.
[Am] IE. _ _ _
Put the [F] F chord over. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
F7 diminished.
F, [D] D, [E] Ab, _ _ [G] _ F.
[F] A little closer.
F, [D] D, [C] _ _ Ab.
[B] _ _ [G] _ _ [F] _ _ [Dm] _ _
_ A minor [E] 7th.
_ E, [Em] sorry, E minor 7th.
I'm sorry about that.
E is A in Dutch. _
Like a block chord.
E, B, E, G, B, G.
_ _ _ [A] _ _ A7th.
A, E, [Em] G, [E] C sharp, [A] E. _
D minor [E] 7th over here.
[D] _ D, [E] A, C, F, [F] A, _ _ [G] G. _
_ _ _ And E [E] minor 7th, F5th.
_ _ [Em] Which is over here.
It's [E] like an E minor 7th.
Lower the 5th.
Let's figure it.
Lower it like this. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Figure it like this, or like this.
If you like, or like this. _ _ _
Let's make sure _ there's a Bb in there.
_ _ _ Go to [A] _ A7th.
[A#] _ D minor 7th as before. _ _ _
[C#] Finishing it off with an F chord with a G bass.
Put it into the picture right here.
[G] F chord with a G bass.
Or like this.
_ _ _ _ So it's an F chord, F chord shape.
[C] F, C, [Em] F, A, [F] C, F.
_ _ Put this one on the G over here.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
[C] All together.
_ C, [Em] E minor, _ _
[Gm] _ G minor, [C#m] _ _ [C] C7b9, _
[F] _ _ Fmaj7, [F] F7 [Dm] diminished, _ [E] E minor.
F, _ [Em] _ _ [A] _ _
_ A7th, [Dm] D minor 7th, [G] _
G, _ _ [E] E [Gm] minor 7th.
F, [A] _ _ A7th, [Dm] D minor [G] 7th, F with a G bass.
Is _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Em] _ [C] that a pale moon [Em] _ _ [Gm] that excites me, [C] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ that thrills and delights me? _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ [Em] _ [A] Oh no, _ _
_ [Dm] is [G] that a billion years [E] of you?
_ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] _ _ _ So that's for the first movement.
_ Continue [D] that in the second movement. _ _ _
_ [C] It's not too sweet.
_ Skip to E minor.
_ [Gm] A conversation _ _ _ [C#m] _
_ that _ [F] _ _ _
brings this sensation.
_ F7 diminished.
_ _ _ _ [Em] E minor.
Oh [A] no, A minor.
_ _ [Dm] _ D minor.
[G] This is an A-sharp G.
[A#] Here comes the [B] end of you.
[C] So what's happening there?
_ [B] It's like a slide up to a C.
_ [C] With my pinky.
I'll do it with [B] three fingers of course.
[C] _ _ The trick is to keep the C note underneath.
And I can do that [B] most easily with my pinky. _
[N] So finger a B chord [D] with a C bass.
B [C#] chord, C [B] bass.
_ [C] _ Slide up to the C chord. _ _ _ _ _ _
See that?
[B] It's [C] _ a barre. _
[B] _ All three strings. _ _
[C] _ Mute the high one.
_ [N] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
