What's up guys, hope you're having an amazing day.
Thank you so much for clicking on my [Dm] video.
This is my second in-depth tutorial video.
[A] If you're new to my channel I've got lots of tutorial
videos before [Ab] this but they're a lot shorter and they just have sheet music.
These are the
videos [Gm] where I go in detail, overhead camera, show you how to [Dm] play a lot of these classic
songs.
Today I'm going to show you how to play The World [Eb] Is Yours on piano, so let's go.
[Ab]
[Gm] So this is [Dm] what we're playing.
So we're playing the first chord, F major 7.
[Dbm]
[Gm] And nice and slow.
[Dm]
[Dbm] [Em] [Gm]
So let's break it down starting in the [F] right hand, starting with this chord here,
F major 7, moving these two fingers down [E] to the next chord.
[Ab] And the rhythm there is we hit that
second chord just before the third beat, so it's on the offbeat.
[F] So one, [C] two, three, [F] four, one,
[C] two, three, four.
And that [F] happens quite a lot in this riff so make sure you've got that down,
one, [Ab] two, three, four.
[D] Moving on to the left hand, we're starting on this D down here and we're
playing.
[Bbm]
[D] Okay so hitting that D twice, then jumping up to this A, which is [A] quite a big jump, going down to the C [Db] sharp,
and then jumping up to this [Bb] B flat, slightly [D] bigger jump.
[Bbm] So practice [B] pedalling these so it sounds
nice and smooth and I'm holding the pedal for the first three [D] notes.
And [Db] then holding it for the first
[Bbm] [D] three notes.
[Bbm] [Db] That C sharp comes in at [Dbm] the same time as this chord, [Db] just before the third beat.
[D] So we go, one, two, [Db] three, [D] four, one, [Db] two, three, [Bbm] four.
And that [D] A also comes in quite quickly after that D, it's straight after.
On the offbeat, that last note there on the fourth beat,
[Bbm] so the right hand, a bit [Dm] slower.
[Dbm] [Dm] [Bbm]
[Dm] So make sure you've got that offbeat rhythm down.
If you've heard the song you already know about
the rhythm and how to play it and how it sounds, but just for the sake of demonstration in this
tutorial, I'm counting it through to make sure it's really clear.
One, two, three, four.
[D] So moving on to
the second bar, I'm going to start on the left hand.
Again starting on this D, [E] going from here to this E,
and [G] then playing G, D, [D] F.
[G]
The rhythm here [D] is similar to the last bar.
This is the note that hits the third beat and [G] we've got this G
on the offbeat.
[D] So and [E] the D and the E are on beats one and two.
So one, [G] two, three.
[D] This note here is the [F] three.
This note comes in just after and [Gm] that's part of this little movement.
[D] [Gm] Again [Am] if you've heard the song you already know this.
In the right hand,
starting here, A minor, going up to [Bm] B minor,
[Bm] jumping all the [Dm] way up to here, D minor,
[Gm] coming down to play these notes, G and B flat, which is again like I said part of this.
Going back [D] here to play E and G, D [Bb] and F.
Okay [Gm] so when you play these notes down here,
the rhythm isn't really that strict.
The main thing [Gm] is to make sure you try and get that D on the
third beat.
They don't have that F, G and B flat, you know, play them quite loosely.
And the rhythm for these other chords are one, [E] [Gm] two, three.
[Em] [Gm] Okay it's quite hard to count and play that but yeah again if you've heard the song you know the
rhythm.
Don't worry too much about these three [Bb] notes here, playing them bang in time but that
that's definitely the fourth beat as are these.
[D]
So from [Dm] the very start nice and slow.
[Dbm] [D] [Gm]
[Dm] [Dbm]
[Gm] [Dm] [Dbm]
[Gm] Thank you so much for watching guys.
I really hope you found this video helpful.
If you've
got any [Dm] feedback at all on how you think I can improve my [Eb] videos and make them easier to
understand, let me know.
I would love to hear it [Ab] and keep your suggestions coming for songs for me
[Gm] Hope to see you in the next video guys.
Thank you
