Hey guys, what is up?
Welcome back to another episode of the MIT class.
Today we're going to be teaching you how to play Trees by McAfee off of the album Forest Life.
Alright, so first we [C] have five chords.
You're gonna [A#] need [B] E, or you can play it up here.
So that's second fret of the A string, fourth fret [G] of the [F#] D string,
or seventh fret of the E string, ninth fret of the A string.
Either one of those will work.
You're gonna need D, which is fifth fret of the A string,
seventh fret of the D [D] string.
[A#] You're gonna need A, which is fifth fret of the E string, seventh fret of the A [A] string.
[G] G, third fret of the E string, [Gm] fifth fret of the A string.
[A] And then this F sharp chord,
which isn't really F sharp, it's something else.
We're gonna call it F sharp.
[F#] It's the second fret of the E string, and the fifth fret of the [D] A string.
[C] So the first chord progression you're gonna need is [A] just D, A, you're gonna play it four times.
[C] And then you're gonna end on that A, and then
you're gonna play the next chord progression four times [F#] before the lyrics come in.
[G] [D] Four times, [F#] and then [F] it's
[E] [G]
[C] [F#] And you're gonna keep playing that same chord progression throughout the entire song.
The only time you're gonna change it up is when you get to the wah-ohs,
and then you're gonna [A] play
[F#] [A] [G]
[F#] [B] [G]
[F#] And you're gonna play it twice just like that, and then two more times, but you're not gonna
[F#] You're not [C] gonna mute the strings.
[A] [G] [D] [A#] And then after the wahs, it's more verses and choruses, which are [B] played the same way.
But how you do that muting part for the
I guess that's the bridge.
So you play down,
and then down, up, down, up.
[A]
[F#m] [A] [G]
[F#] [B] And all that you're gonna do, you play down, down, [A#] and then you're just gonna lift your
fingers up a little bit, so you're muting the strings.
You're not pushing any of them down.
[B]
[A#] Just like that.
[Gm] And then go back to
[A] [G] [F#]
And it'll end right there on the F sharp [A#] chord,
once you're done with all the verses and the choruses.
So the whole song [A]
is
The next chord [F#] progression.
[A]
[D] [F#] [G]
[F#] And when you get to the bridge, [A] [F#m]
it's
[G] [F#] Back [B] to the same chord progression.
[G] [D]
And then it'll end.
[C] And that's the whole thing.
So if you guys enjoyed it, leave a thumbs up,
leave [G] a comment, what other songs you want to learn.
Check out my music.
I just released an EP that's on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music,
[A#] everything.
I'm gonna put some links in the description, and you can also buy Plugloop merch.
I'll put a link for that in the description too.
