What I'm going to do is just start off with a simple progression in G minor.
I'm going to show you the chords in the bass.
[Gm] I've got them on my loop pedal here as well.
We've got [Cm] G minor 7, C minor [Dm] 7, D minor 7.
[Gm] It loops just like that.
Just four bars [Cm] over and over like that.
Nothing [Dm] to it.
[Gm] On the bass, if you wanted to play this with your loop station, [Cm] you can go up to your [Dm] 15th
fret, hold [G] on your G up the octave, your F on the D [Cm] string, and your B [Dm] flat on the G
string, [Gm] and you get the G minor 7.
Move up, keeping that B [Cm] flat, you're going to [Dm] move your index [Gm] finger down to E flat,
[Cm] and your middle finger onto C [Dm] to get yourself a C minor [Gm] 7.
That's the second chord.
[Cm] [Dm] You just [Gm] move it up two frets to get your D minor 7.
[Cm] [Dm] [Am]
[Gm]
[Cm] [Dm]
[Gm]
[Cm] [Dm]
[Gm] [Eb] If you've got a loop station, you can loop that on there.
It'll make it a bit [D] easier once you have a [Gm] guitar player, right?
So [Eb] some of the soloing basics just start [Dm] with the G minor pentatonic [Bb] scale.
It's one of the easiest ones.
You probably already know it.
[Em] [Cm] It [Dm] starts with a G,
[Gm] E flat, [Bb]
[C] C, D, [D]
F, [F] and [Gm] G.
[Cm] As [D] long as you're using those [Cm] notes, no matter [Gm] which octave you're using them in, that's
going to work [Cm] anywhere on your fingerboard.
[Dm]
[Gm] I'm just going to use the notes in random orders here.
[D] [Bb]
[F]
[Gm] [F]
[Bb] [Dm]
[Gm]
[F]
[C] [Gm] You'll see that I'm adding in the fourth fret there sometimes.
You can add in [F] chromatic passages, that's all it is.
From [Gb] F to [G] F sharp to G, it works.
[Gb] [F] [G] [Dm]
[Bb] [C] Same with the C, [Bb] C sharp, D.
[Db] That's actually your [Gm] flat 5 there, the C sharp.
[Dm]
[Gm]
[Db] [C]
[Gm]
[Cm] [D] That's not to say that [Gm] all the other notes are out of [Cm]
bounds, but I mean, you know, [G] they
all work a bit in their own little way.
[E] So it's never hard to try every [Ab] single [Gm] note in it [F] at all.
[D]
[Gm]
[Cm] Give it a try.
[D] So that's all there is to [Gm] soloing basics.
That's all there really is to it there.
You've just got to find out what key it's [Cm] in.
We're in G minor.
[D] Use that pentatonic [Gm] scale to go with it.
If it's major, you use your major scale to go [Cm] with it, et cetera.
[D] So any questions, just give me an [Gm] email.
I'm going to show you the chords in the bass.
[Gm] I've got them on my loop pedal here as well.
