_ _ _ _ _ Welcome to Eric _ Blackman Music.
[D] _ _

_ [B] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _
[B] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ [B] _

[N] _ _ _ _ _ _ Welcome to Eric Blackman Music Bass.
_ _ In this one I will show you how I play an R&B classic _ by The Spinners on four string electric bass.
_ _ I'll be around.
_ _ _ _ The bass is tuned standard, _ _ EADG. _
_ And we'll start with the intro or an intro riff that [G] goes like this.
_ _ [B] _ _ [N] _ _ _ _
_ We're starting on the second fret [Gb] on the E string. _ _ _ _ _
The fourth fret.
[Ab] _ _ _ [B]
And then the A string, second fret. _
_ _ _ [N] And then we'll start our main riff.
_ So we'll start like this.
One, two, three, four.
One, [Gb] two.
_ _ [E] And _
[G] then we'll go to the open E string.
So [Gb] _
[B] that's.
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [Abm] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Ebm] _ _ _ _
_ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Ebm] _ _ _ _ _ [B] _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _
_ _ _ [N] _ _ _ Once we've done that, we'll play this riff. _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [B] _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [B] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Ab] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _
_ [D] And that riff will [N] get us through the entire song.
_ _ We'll play that riff by going to our open E string.
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Fret four.
_ [Ab] _ _ _ _
_ [B] Fret two on the A string.
_ _ _ [G] And then to fret two [Eb] on the E string [Gb] again. _ _
_ _ _ _ And then we'll go [Bm] back to the [Ab] fourth fret. _ _ _
_ [B] _ And then back to the second fret on the A string.
_ _ [F] So it's going to go like this.
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[B] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [B] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ And that will get us through [Ab] the entire song.
_ _ [Abm] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _
_ _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _
[Abm] _ _ _ _ [N] _ _ _ _
_ After we've done that riff a while, we'll [Ab] go into a little fill that goes like this. _
_ [Ebm] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ _ _ [F] And that's played this way.
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Ab] _ [B] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [E] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _
_ _ _ [N] _ _ Now we play that by starting on the fourth fret on the A string.
_ Sliding to fret six like this.
[Eb] _ _ _
_ _ And [A] then we'll go to the D string, [Gb] fret four. _ _ _
[Ab] Back to the A string, fret [Eb] six. _
_ _ [Em] And then end on the D string, fret [Gb] four. _ _ _ _
So [Db] that's.
_ [Eb] _ _ _ [Gb] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ _
[F] Once again.
_ [Gb] _ _ [Gbm] _ _
Like that.
[E] So it's. _ _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Ebm] _ _
_ [G] _ _ Now the only other thing we have to learn is the cool part.
That's right after the chorus.
_ And it [E] goes like this.
_ _ [B] _ _ _ _ [Ab] _
_ [B] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] And it's [E] played this way.
_ [B] _
_ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [D] _ Now in order to play that, we're going to go to the D string, fret [E] two. _ _ _ _ _
[D] And then come down to the A string, [B] fret two. _
_ _ _ _ _ [B] We'll go back to the D string.
_ [E] _ _ _ _
_ _ The [B] A string. _
Still on fret two.
[F] And then fret four on the [Ab] E string.
_ _ _ _ _ [N] _
_ _ Then we'll go back to the A string, [B] fret two. _ _ _ _ _
The E string, fret [Abm] four.
_ _ [E] And then the open E string. _ _ _ _
So for the entire thing. _ _ _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ _
_ [B] _ _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ [G] And then to the open E string.
[E] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [D] _
So here's the entire [E] thing. _ _ _ _
_ _ [Abm] _ _ _ [E] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Ab] _
_ [B] _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [B] _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [B] _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _
_ [B] _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Ab] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[F] Now, since all the parts are repeated.
That's all we're going to have to learn [F] in order to play.
[N] I'll be around.
By the spinners.
On electric four string bass. _
_ _ Thanks for stopping by. _
_ And have a great day.
_ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ _ _ Wow. _
[E] _ _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _
