The best way to stay warm, of [Dm] course, is to cozy up to the one you love.
[Eb] So here now, the tale of how one Vancouver-based rock star met the love of his life.
[D] [G] Well, hello, [F] my name is Apola Aquino.
I'm a jazz [G] dancer and an actress.
And this here is Ian Osbury.
And he's the rock star extraordinaire, singer of the cult.
And so here we are at Cupcakes in Kitsilano, the most romantic spot.
[Gm] I love you.
[D] I have to say, [C] for a couple of weeks we were trying to refrain from this place.
And so we'd walk behind [G] Ian, and he was kind of like, there's the devil's [C] shop.
When I was a kid, cake was like something you got maybe once a week, maybe [D] once a month.
And it may have come out of a tin.
Ian was performing here.
[Bb] My dad was promoting the show, so I got to be a little bit backstage [G] in some interviews.
I was meandering through [F] my life, shall we say.
In [C] walked Ian, and he startled me with the way he was [Gm] staring.
Oops, I was wearing a [G] leather skirt.
Yeah, but look at him, left-handed.
Definitely blind, you know, for legs.
Definitely the blue Hawaii.
I am.
I'm the diva for you.
He was like, hi, nice to meet you.
I'm Ian.
And he said to my dad, have you locked your [Em] daughter up yet?
And he says, um, no.
[C] Because she needs locking up.
[G] Yum, yum.
Give me a hug.
Oh, Beau.
Wait for me.
Just absolutely smitten.
That was it.
And I've [E] [Em] been ruined for about the past year [G] and a half.
Decadence.
[B] He said, [Bm] I'm in love with you.
And I said, I [A] know.
I love you too.
And he goes, well, why didn't you say so?
And I said, because it's [D] a man's job [B] to say I love you first.
Love, love.
Love, yeah.
I said, basically, I love you.
I live in India.
[Dm] You're invited.
And so three weeks later, he showed up in Bombay [Am] at the airport.
And I was there to pick him up in my Indian clothes.
And I was like, here we go.
Put him on the back of my scooter and raced off into the night.
[Am] This is absolute decadence.
This is where we come after a fight.
[D] So we try to fight often.
[Am]
We just moved back to North America together.
He tricked me into leaving [D] India and coming back.
If you fancy [Am] yourself as a new modern slender person, [D] forget about it.
Don't even bother coming here.
Just walk right by.
It's great for us normal folks that just don't care.
This is the place we come for a six pack.
We get a six pack and then we go home and watch the hockey.
But this is one of our favorite spots in Vancouver.
[Dm] Most exquisite cupcakes in the world.
We're very much in love and really happy.
We really like being in Vancouver.
It's great.
It's [D] awesome.
