It's E and then tuned down a half step, so I guess it's open E flat.

Give or take a half a step, wherever they're tuned.
But this is the tuning Dave [Ab] uses.
And it [B] gives you the [Eb] chance to do his picking, usually it goes something like_

_ Picking up on the B string, or whatever's adjacent to it.
I don't hear a lot of high E on it, on this main part.
But the bass line is in [C] _ _ _ _ [Eb] that intro.
Zero, [G] four, _ [Bb] on the low E.
Open A.

And then back again.
