First of all, congratulations for making it this far mean it's quite special to be in the top three in 2018
What made you audition in 2018?
_ _ my dad
_ _ _ Yeah, it wasn't my plan to come, you know knowing the person that I am I'm very shy
_ _ I'm kind of an introvert.
So I didn't I never really thought that I'd ever go to idols
But you know daddy was like, [Am] you know, you should go you just know try it out
And then yeah, I [C] came and kind of worked out.
So yeah, [B] I take it [N] you you were always singing around the house
And your dad picked up your talent.
How did this music thing start? _ _ _ _
_ Like when I was really young actually I grew up in church, you know, my dad is a pastor so I'm a PK
So [E] it's basically worship team vibes.
I've always been singing since I was young.
So yeah
_ _ So now I get into now audition your father is saying you must try, you know this idols thing
How did you then choose the song to audition with I mean we can we got your leading worship now
You have to go in this pop show.
How did you then choose a song to audition with?
_ Auditions I was not prepared because I didn't plan on [C] going on that day.
I woke up around 10
_ And I was like probably the line is long [Am] and I'm never even gonna go in [C] but luckily I did go in and I was never _ _
prepared
So I just I remember saying Kelly Kumala and they were like no sing an English song and then I just sang
Something that came to my mind the song doesn't exist.
[E] So I just came up with lyrics right at the spot _ _ _ So, yeah _ _
We could see again that you're quite often introverts and a shy person
But you know as time went on going to theater week and now going to the live shows you were coming out more
What was happening in that process for you to say, okay, I need to be out there more
Well, basically, I'm still the same person, you know in [N] person
I'm still the same person, but I I just saw that being shy is not gonna work on stage
So, you know, we have people like our vocal coaches miss team who actually told me that you can be like Beyonce's a very shy person
But she has this persona Sasha fierce, which is a whole different person [E] from the person that she really is
So just be a different person on stage be be more open on stage
When I'm on stage, I'm just one different person that when I even watch I'm like I could never do that
[C] But you know, I did it.
Yeah, but [B] I'm still the [A] same person
Yeah, so Beyonce turns into Sasha fierce right Tanaka Dennis turns into the phenom Tando [B] turns into

Okay, so now the live shows week in week out now
It's a massive production like 12 15 20 cameras week in week out
How was that pressure having to perform in front of South Africa [E] every week?
You know whenever I perform I never had it in my mind that millions of people are watching
The only people that were in my mind were the judges and the people in the theater
_ It's only often when I perform that man actually millions of people are actually watching
So I think that's how I became calm even on stage because I never thought that a lot of people are watching
It only crossed my mind after so but yeah a lot of people actually don't know what happens behind the scenes
I mean from Monday to Saturday.
There's a lot that's happening.
You guys are doing rehearsals.
You're learning songs
You're doing promos you're doing shoots.
So there's actually limited time for you guys to learn the songs.
How was that pressure?
How was that process emotionally?
_ It's a lot of pressure because you just want to learn your song you want to perfect your song
But you don't actually get [Ab] enough time to [E] do it and you don't have a choice to do each and everything that is on the schedule
_ But it comes with you know, even when you come back late, you still have to just practice
You don't have to go to bed.
You know that it calls late nights.
It calls you being [Abm] tired
It calls [A] you being exhausted, you know, either [B] way so that you can be good at the end of the day.
So yeah _
Daddy asked you [N] to audition and you know when the performances are starting you are being exposed to a lot of secular music
Do you think daddy was always comfortable, you know being single lady?
_ My dad never really liked circular music
I'm telling you but and then he was like you should go on idols and I was like
Oh, so all of the Sunday when you want you like circular music now [E] because now it's idols
But then he was like, no, just try it out
He was actually cool, hey, he was cool with with with everything even my mom didn't mind the shorts
I was wearing on single ladies.
I thought she was gonna faint but
Yeah, so she was really he was really good cool with everything
There's also quite a few cool things that come with being in the top three just last week.
You guys went to Dubai
How was that experience having to you know, go overseas [A] for the first time?
[B] [C] I've never been out of the country before [E]
[Am] and
Being out of the country [E] for the first time and then you go to a place like Dubai.
It's so amazing
It was it was a great [Em] experience.
I don't wanna lie.
So yeah, it was awesome
_ It might be too soon for me to be asking this but what's the way forward?
What's the plan going forward for Tandor?
Honestly speaking, I [Am] do not know but I'm [E] just praying to God for the beast
I just I just pray that [Am] he has something great for me
But [E] obviously I'm not gonna sit down and just chill be like, oh I'm out of the [C] competition
But I'm just gonna make sure that I work hard so [B] that my career takes [E] off.
