Start Jamming...
[G] Today we're getting a total makeover.
We're actually tattooing a bit, or I'm not, he is, Marcus.
[Gb]
[C]
[Bb]
[Bbm]
I've focused way more [Gb] on my actual guitar playing
than I've done in [Bbm] the past.
I've practiced more, [Ab] I've played more guitar than I [Cm] ever did,
so hopefully [Bbm] that will show a little bit.
I feel they are tighter, [Gb] more synchronized than they've ever been.
[Bbm]
It's easier for [Ab] him to see the overall picture, have all the melodies and everything in his head.
[Dbm] Certain things
felt easier to play than they usually are.
It's gonna be a bitch as soon as we start touring, because I play [F] above my skill level as [B] always.
[Db] But it takes a couple of [Dbm] shows and then you get into it.
[A] And things like that, we've been really working with [Dbm] Robban, Roberto, it's been
[A] As I said, he's [Ab] very, very picky and [Dbm] very meticulous.
He needs to be the right way or [A] we don't do it.
So there's a lot of [Dbm] takes for certain things and
the approach [A] has been very different.
We had [B] so much more time [Bbm] also.
So what's the initial setup?
The [Gb] EVH, Van Halen amp, and also [Ab] the Mesa Rectifier.
The thing we have right now feels very tight, it's a bit tight on the bass.
[Gb]
And the Rectifier is more [F] for the mids, I think, and it has a nice [Ab] kick to it.
[Gb] [F]
[Ab] [Bb] [Bb]
[Db] [Gb] [Bb]
[Db]
[Ab] [Bbm] Live I play with the EBS [Gb] Fafner and I love it.
I think it creates [Db] such a great sound.
But in the studio we always went back [Ab] to an old Ampeg that I [Bbm] bought when I was like 19.
[Gb] It doesn't really matter what I have, we [Bbm] always go back to it.
This time we tried the Fafner, the Fafner 2, we tried another EBS [Ab] rig, we tried a [Dbm] Marshall rig even,
and we went back to the Ampeg.
And then we had two different distortions.
We had the Ashdown [A] distortion mixed with an [Db] MXR.
[Gbm] [Ebm]
[Db] [Ab]
[Gb] [Ebm]
[Db] [Ab] [Eb]
[Gb] [Ebm] [F] Anders is doing some, Daniel just did.
[G] [G] I'm not sure if Peter is going to do anything right now.
[Bb] A really good friend of mine, [Gb] Markus, [Bbm] he's a tattoo artist and he came up here because I asked him [Ab] to.
I thought it was a good opportunity for him to do a little bit [Gb] of work on all of us.
He's already done a lot of work [Bbm] on me and Anders was interested, so he's done some [Abm] work on him and Daniel has done [Dbm] some as well.
And he was up here and I actually tattooed my whole back pretty much here and that was kind of crazy.
[A]
[B] [Dbm] This [A] is actually the hardest part of getting tattoos on the back.
[Db] You can't really drink the beer.
[A] [B] [Dbm] [Gb]
[Eb] [E]
[B] [Eb]
