Start Jamming...
All right, hello folks Gregory Cochran here
Where are we?
We're at NAMM [E] 2017.
We're in the sir booth.
I'm here with the legendary John sir.
[A] How you doing, sir?
I'm good.
Thanks.
I'm finally nice to [D#] meet you
We're enjoying
Sussing out all [Am] the glorious instrumentation here that you have in your fine establishment
[Bm] So let me ask you this.
What do you got new for [G] this year?
What are you excited about after all this [D] year all these years of doing this stuff and making great stuff?
What are you excited [B] about?
I'm really excited about the anthony model all the artist models
[Em] The electronics we're boosting [F#m] up now.
We've got the [E] eclipse pedal which is a dual overdrive
We've got a cabinet emulator, which is awesome for those people who want an analog
Solution to getting a speaker response out of their direct recording interface, so they don't need to deal [B] with irs
Just basically getting back to basics about why I started doing this in the beginning where on the sir [F#] select series
I got together with our main shop manager, and we [E] picked out all the guitars and all the woods and designed out
[Em] Back to basics building [E] guitars for musicians.
Yes, you [A] know
[G] Yeah, a [Em] little less lipstick on the big I am sad
Let me ask you why did you get into the amplifier business?
Why don't you start doing that oh I started getting into that back in the 80s?
I [F#] used to have a Bradshaw rig okay, [Em] and I really wasn't happy with all the
The options back then so I [E] designed I started modifying Marshalls because I was bored in New York
[Em] And I said one to Bob Bradshaw
[F#] Because he said I want to hear what you're playing if you don't [Em] like all the other gear
What are you playing and I sent him a Marshall and he liked it
He said Luke and they're like that [A] land I liked it, so then I designed the [Am] three-plus preamp okay
[B] And the rest is history
Yeah, the rest and I basically eventually took I did an amplifier with Bob called the custom audio amplifier
[E] And I started taking that back where we started our own place
Eventually it morphed into sir
Now where's all the stuff?
Where's your shop located?
We're in Lake Elsinore right off the freeway
28,000 [E] square feet there
We do everything in house we could possibly do
it's kind of a
Diva mine now is that you can't say made in the USA and bird unless virtually everything is actually made in the USA
So [B] but we still do all of our assembly all of our electronics in [A]-house all of our own paint [G] pickups
Well the [B] quality of the stuff speaks to
That's all you need to [Bm] say sir
I knew my dad
[E] I'm definitely OCD so I got into the club
I got a guitar building because I wasn't happy with with what I could find out there when I was a kid
Well, let me just say [B] for my point of view I do those videos all day long for [G] Wildwood
They hand me all these different things and [E] when I get your guitars.
They're a pleasure to play.
They [Bm] sound great
They feel great.
They look great.
I love to hear that.
That's you know it really gives us great satisfaction to see
[Am] People happy you buy the instruments.
Well you're coming [G] through and we appreciate it great
Thank you so much for giving us your time to talk with [E] us about your great stuff, and it's a pleasure meeting you
Same here.
Take it easy.
Thanks Greg.
Talk to you for a while.
We'll get ours.
We'll [A] see you catch later
