The chorus was already done to moving forward.
_ And _ I said, bro, _ _ we're kind of [Bm] like we're wrapping the record today.
So a few weeks later, I was in Atlanta with him and I said, man, play that song for me [F#] again.
[G] _ And again, he just had the chorus _ and _ [A] _ not _ going back [G] and moving ahead. _
[A] Here to [F#] declare to [G] you, _ past is over.
[A] _ When [F#] he said that, when he said my past is over, I just went, oh, I feel that, you know.
[G] And and when he said all things are made new, _ [B] surrendered my life to Christ. _
Moving, [D] moving forward.

_ _ And [Bm] so I had this [D] kind of this motif.

[Bm] I said, maybe that's like this musical thing, [G] but maybe it [Em] could show up in the vamp out and we could say something [Bm]
that just [E] causes it to soar.
[Bm] And when we [A] started writing the verse, _ _ _ the [E] line, you're the healing [G] who [F#] makes all things [E] new.
When we said all things, I said, I feel like [F#m] that's the ringing _ residing _ _ sort of concept of the song.
It's like [E] the whole idea of there's no there's no need for me to look back because today's a new [D] day.
It's it's [C#m] you know, I've got a fresh _ 24, [G] so to speak, to to to make [A] to make count.
[D] And that's how you make all things new.
[E] _ You _ [A] make [G] all things new.
So we ended up recording [F#] it _ on on a live record there at Free Chapel in in Gainesville, Georgia.
And [G] I said that day, I said, man, someday [Bm] I'm going to record this song, you know, [F#m] for myself just because it just I don't know, it just resonates with me.
_ [F#] _ _ And so, again, I that [B] same night we wrote You Are Loved, I got with [Em] Akil _ [F#] Thompson and I said, what if what if we did [A] like this really kind of _ very _ scaled down version [D] of the whole front half [Em] of the song?
And _ [D] made it feel a little [F#] bit more like an old James Taylor tune.
And when I first started learning how to play guitar [D] and learn this, this James Taylor slide, my [Em] record, Ricardo [Bm] taught it to me.
[A] But _ _ [F#] this [D] thing, _

[A] _ _ _ _ [D] _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ look down upon me, [Bm] Jesus, you know, it feels sort of like [B] like like an old [Bm] James Taylor tune.

[A] _ immediately we just sort of worked on that reharmonization of [D] of the first part of the [E] song.
And [D] it just felt it felt [F#] right.
And when we got into [F#m] recording _ [F#] about one in the morning, lights down, [E] we just _ [D] really just [F#] tried our best to capture worship in [D] the song. _ _ _
[A] And, yeah, so writing the song was [E] special and having recorded it and sung [D] it a lot _ [E] since then.
It was [F#] the first song we did at our church, _ the first Sunday of the new year.
And it was just [F#m] really, really [F#] special.
And I've had [D] so many people say, when are you going [F#] to record that [Bm] song?
So it was just it was just right that it was on [A] this one.
