Album covers, for me, they're bigger than they are now.
And [Abm] I always thought of them like the shield, the [Bb] way Indians would dream [E] up.
They'd literally dream or [Dm] imagine or think of that [G] thing that represented them.
[Em]
[C] [G] One day I got a call from David [B] Geffen.
[F] He said, listen Gary, I [C] want you to go and meet this young singer [Em]-songwriter.
I went, fine.
Went [Gb] over to Henry's house, woke [Em] him up.
Got in the car and we drove [G] to this little bungalow in Hollywood.
[E] [B] So we went up to the door, knocked on the [C] door.
Jackson [G] opened the door.
[A] Said, hi, I'm Jackson.
[Em] We introduced ourselves, went [G] in.
Sat down, [Em] opened up a beer and Jackson said, you want to hear the album?
And we said, sure.
And he sat down at [C] the piano and just played these [G] amazing songs
with these beautiful, heartfelt lyrics.

We used to spend a lot of time in [Gb] the desert.
And I had this water bag on my wall and I was having a conversation with Gary.
And I was just staring at this water bag.
He said, well, you know, we could make it a water bag.
And I said, oh, that's kind of a cool image.
Our generation knows what a water bag is.
It's a canvas bag that [Bb] you submerge, [E]
probably in the tire trough, you know, at the gas station.
You literally hang it on the front of your [Bb] car so that when you pass through the Mojave Desert,
the water sort of evaporates as it goes through the radiator grill and helps the car stay cool.
So we decided to make the album cover look like that.
And I made it as authentic as possible, as is my want.
[Ab] My water bag is said to saturate before using on the back.
So Jackson said, you know, man, I'm really afraid if you put that on there,
people are going to think that's the title of my album.
And I said, no way, they'd never would think that, man.
They know that's not part of it.
[Eb] After so many years of people calling it saturated before using,
the record company finally [C] believed that that was the title and they put it on the CD, on the spine of the CD.
[G]
Rock me [C] on water.
Sister, will [G] you soothe my [D] [C] fevered breath?
[G] Rock me [Gbm] on water.
[E] [A] Maybe I'll remember.
[C] Maybe I'll [Am] remember.
[G] We had the water bag [C] and we needed a picture of water.
[G] Blub, blub, blub.
[D] Go inside.
[C]
So [A] Gary said, [G] take a picture of water.
And one of us [D] suggested, you know, the sparkles bottle, I guess.
In your kitchen.
[Am] And I had one right in my kitchen.
And I pushed the [C] button and the water bubbled.
You weren't [G] there.
I was there.
You were?
[C] Yeah.
I [G] pushed the button.
I pushed the [B] button, the water started bubbling.
[C] I remember taking the bottle and [G]
lifting it upside down. And [C] quickly.
Grabbing my camera, [G] just like this.
Just like this.
Put the bottle in.
Dump [C] it right on there.
Quick.
You got to do it quick.
[G] There's the bubbles.
Okay, here we go.
Why is he turning it [F] around and [D] around and around?
It's almost gone.
What are you [G] doing?
And then I went right back.
There you [F] go.
[G] Just like that.
[Fm]
And [G] voila.
Oh, you guys [C] didn't put the rim in there. Water.
[G] It's going over the edge now.
[C] [G]
[B] [D] Stick around, folks.
Get your heads ready for our next big adventures.
And our trip to the desert with eagles.
You know, this is not history.
This is evidence.
