You guys will make that call, 798-8797.
You know, questions set up,
of course they'll have to go through us
and then they'll give it to Jasmine.
But Jasmine, how long have you been [D#] in Las Vegas?
I've been here for a little over two months now.
I've been performing for about five weeks.
This is my last week here in Las Vegas,
I'll perform today and tomorrow
I'm gonna go back to Hawaii, just for a little break. Oh wow.
And then the whole American Idol thing,
I mean it's just so amazing that
beautiful young lady herself representing Hawaii
and having all the local people,
not necessarily just the people from Hawaii,
I mean we have like, I would say we're
almost 100,000 people here from the islands in Las Vegas.
So it's like the ninth island, right?
Yeah, yeah.
The ninth island, ninth island.
Oh man, well but let's talk about
what you have in the future.
I mean, you know, you did the show here,
SOS, of course, a great band.
You got to catch the show this past Wednesday,
excellent, excellent show.
Thank you.
And you have some upcoming dates for the future?
Yes, I do.
I am going to be [C#] leaving on Wednesday
[D] and I'm gonna be making many trips and films
to perform the shows once again.
[C#] And I'll also be doing some feedback
[N] and then I'm gonna be doing
I'll do the American Idol commentaries.
I've been doing that a couple of times
during this past year for the [D] Taylor Hicks season.
Taylor Hicks and Kevin MacLeod.
Also, I'll be doing a movie in the Philippines.
Really?
Yes, first movie, so I'm really excited about that.
Oh, you're gonna be a mega star.
I'm on my way, hopefully,
I'm crossing my fingers.
You're definitely on your way.
I mean, what high school did you graduate from?
I graduated from Marano High School.
High school.
2004.
2004.
[N] You just turned 21?
No, I didn't, I'm still 20 actually.
I turned 20 this last November.
Okay.
So I have a long way to go.
Wow.
But you know, trying to keep yourself very active
from the schedule that you explained to us.
It's just amazing for you to, you know,
a dream of, I mean, did you have this dream
when you were a little girl, you just wanted to sing?
Yes, absolutely.
Ever since [C#] I was a little girl,
I was always a little girl,
[D#] I wanted to sing music, I wanted to do my passion,
[C] I wanted to find my life.
And, you know, especially living in Hawaii,
[N] you can be part of our culture.
And for me, also being Filipino,
you know, we love singing karaoke.
So, you know, it's always been a part of me.
And so I love singing and, you know,
I didn't really take it seriously until high school,
when I, you know, I entered Brown Bags and Roads of Fame.
And then, you know, American Idol happened to be
in Hawaii for auditions.
And I was like, you know, why not?
And, you know, I had no idea,
I never imagined that it would, you know,
it would make me [F] a performer, you know, a singer,
you know, a well-known, you know, household name singer.
Well, I mean, you know, the door opened
pretty much with American Idol.
And is it really Simon Cowell?
Was he kind of the, you know, for you?
[F#] I mean, we see it on the show all the time,
and so, but, you know, you know, being there
and, you know, being in the whole game of things,
I mean, how was that exposed?
[D] Well, you know, Simon Cowell,
he's one of the most brutal judges on American Idol.
You know, without [C] Simon Cowell, what would the show be?
He gives a certain dynamic to the show.
[E] And, you know, that's his job.
So off camera, you know, he's a very nice, sincere guy.
Very, very sweet.
Well, I guess he kind of puts you, you know,
gives you that kick.
Yeah, exactly.
He's like, you're not doing your job,
let me give you this.
[N] Exactly.
Puts you in the right direction.
But it did work out, and I mean, you know,
seeing the, you know, the finals,
with the, you know, the family there was showing their signs
and, you know, my wife turned the text in, you know,
as well, as well for Jazz.
I said, okay, let's go.
Let's go.
[D] Well, I'll tell you what,
