For any of you who have followed and bought a few of my albums along the way,
first, thank you very much.
But there's a secret to part of it that there comes along songs every now and then
that you simply wish you had written.
And I've been doing this gentleman's songs for, I don't know, over 20 years, I guess,
because I knew that I loved him in the beginning.
And the other thing is, he's another native-born Mississippian.
We got more on the stage you can possibly bear right now.
And he may not be known to a lot of you out there,
but when you know his music, you love [N] his music.
So it gives us a great treat.
And also, he told me, growing up in Memphis in North Mississippi,
he spent all of his summers as a kid right here on this beach.
So please give a great Gulf Shore welcome to a great American songwriter
and a hero of mine, Mr.
Jesse Winchester, right here.
And last but not least, accompanying him, my other dear friend,
one of the few members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame from the Gulf Coast,
from New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr.
Alan Toussaint right there.
We got living legends and we're still rocking up here.
How we doing, all?
Here's a little song that Jesse wrote.
We were happy to record and I hope you got some living room furniture too out of this.
Yeah, I could use some.
Okay, all right.
And if you folks out there know the rumba step, that's good.
And if you don't, just follow Jesse.
He'll show it to you.
All right, let's go.
[Gm] It's Sunday afternoon, dancing on the beach.

[D] [A]
I'm the same old guy that I used to be, [D] sugar, I haven't [A] changed at all.
I [D] got the same walk and the same talk that would run you right [A] up the wall.
I [D] got the same face and the same smile, just some old baby [A] blue.
And I'm still doing the rumba, baby, [D] so I'm still [A] the man from the town.
I'm still doing the rumba, baby, [D] I can't seem to quit.
My mama can't resist doing the rumba, [D] but mother would just [A] forget the thing.
[D] I [A] can't help myself, [D] this much bigger [A] than me.
If I were you, I would hang on to [D] a [A] rumba man like me.
[E] [Am]
[A] [D] [A]
There are lots of guys on the floor tonight [D] with a lot slicker steps [A] than me.
[D] This is the book I love and the funky rock with such a pretty [A] sight to see.
[D] My step might be old-fashioned, but that's all right [A] with me.
Oh, I've got a couple of rumbas left [D] that [B] you might like to see.
Come on.
[A] I've been good at rumba, [D] I can't [A] seem to quit.
My mama can't resist doing the [D] rumba, but mother would just [Em] forget the thing.
[D] I can't help myself, this much [A] bigger than me.
If I were you, I would hang on [D] to a rumba [A] man like me.

Well, you still don't mean [D] right.
I haven't [A] changed at all.
[D] I'm just the same, walking the same, talking to my brother, just straight up the walk.
I've got the same old face and the same old smile and the same [A] baby.
I'm still doing the rumba, baby.
I'm still the [Am] man with you.
[A] I'm still doing the rumba, baby.
