John Mayer - ASK:REPLY chords
Start Jamming...
Hey, this is John Mayer and this is my VEVO Ask Reply.
I'm gonna answer some fan questions, so here we go.
At Bethany T.
James, do you wear odd socks or matching socks?
Matching socks.
I don't wear odd socks.
If I had to wear odd socks, I would go odd color,
but matching texture.
The worst thing you can do is to wear two different socks
of varying length or thickness.
That's terrible.
So I would probably wear different colored socks
if they were both the same, make and model.
Thank you for your question.
At CJ Pelfrey asks, what song that you've written
speaks most to your heart when you sing it?
Born and Raised.
When I sing Born and Raised, I'm having the best time.
I've waited to sing that song live for quite a while now,
and there's always somebody in the crowd,
more than one person, but I key into one person
every night, one or two people,
and there's a certain person who's had the same
kind of life experience that I may have,
and we are just on a thing,
and there's this closed-eyed,
but they do not have each other,
and I know how they feel,
because when you do the Springsteen thing in the crowd,
it's for real.
So I really enjoy playing that song,
knowing that if you can relate to that song,
you can really relate to that song.
At MTTWLDNGR93, Matt Wildinger, 93,
how does it feel knowing you inspired tons of people,
including myself, to pick up guitar?
It's something that I'm still getting through my head,
because I appreciate it so much.
It's the ultimate compliment,
because I'm being complimented in a way
that I also experienced myself growing up.
So when I was growing up,
I could tell you who I wished that I would have met,
and how I would have felt if I met them,
and I know what that feels like, to have wanted that,
and I know what it feels like to have had that
in a couple of situations.
So if that way that I felt when I was 17
is how someone else feels when they come up to me,
I am not ready to accept that kind of full circle goodness,
but it's incredible.
It's incredible that even if your music
comes and goes someday,
a guy or a girl doesn't forget
who inspired them to play guitar.
That answer will always be on the tip of someone's tongue.
So that is remarkable and cool,
and an even bigger dream than I could dream of.
So thank you very much,
and I hope I continue to inspire you,
and I have a question for you.
How does it feel to possibly one day
inspire someone else to send the same thing to you?
It's rhetorical because you're not here.
At Glamazon1026, and if you're thinking
of reaching out to Glamazon,
we want you to know there's a underscore
between the M and the A.
Glamazon1026, will you marry me?
No.
However, when people ask me, will I marry them,
I say no, but then I feel like I really wanna
make them feel good about having asked me to marry them.
That's a lot to ask somebody,
because we'd be together forever if I said yes.
If I'd said yes, we would've been together forever.
That's a lot of time to give to somebody,
so I wanna thank you for that.
I'm not able to marry you, but I know what that means,
which means that you have a crush, I think, on me.
It's not saying too much to think that you have a crush
on me because you did ask me to marry you.
I accept your crush, and I crush back on you.
At NicolaMic13 wants to know,
when did you start playing the guitar?
I started playing the guitar when I was 13 years old.
It was when I first got a guitar that belonged to me,
and I have not stopped since.
I've been the same human being as a guitar player,
the same guy who picked up a guitar when he was 13,
and the story just kinda keeps unfolding.
At Coltonista asks, an artist you would like
to collaborate with?
You know, who's an artist I would like to collaborate with?
I got to collaborate with Katy Perry on my new record,
and that was fun, both musically and as an experience.
I think after an experience like that,
you can't have a dream collaboration
for another two months or so,
because then you're just being way too greedy.
That's it for my Ask Reply.
Thank you very much [C#] for sending in your questions.
