Hello there, John Standifer here.
Well, I promised to do some more YouTube videos before long and it took me a little longer
than I thought.
But part of the process was that I overhauled my office here that you're seeing in the
background into a kind of combination office and recording and video studio as well as
the place where I'm doing Skype lessons.
So everything's happening in this one room now and now that I've got everything organized,
I'm starting to work on some projects.
So, I'll tell you this one little thing.
Along with the Skype lessons, I have a few home students here in Vancouver, Washington
and one of them asked a while back if I knew any Johnny Cash and I thought, well, you know,
I got [G] the Luther thumb-picking thing going.
But as I was playing tunes, I wasn't really too impressed with what I was coming up with
I stumbled across Folsom Prison Blues and I got it into G tuning, well, G6 tuning.
I dropped the fifth and sixth string down a whole step.
So I end up with that tuning and then I found the magic note, [F] which is this F note, which
makes [G] it a G7.
That gave it that little bluesy edge that made it groove nice.
So anyway, here's what I came up with.
[Em] [C]
[D] [A] [G]

[G] [A] [G]
[D]
[G]
[Gm] [G]
[Gm] [C] [C]

Anyway, I'm trying to do more and more arrangements like that.
I have hundreds of tabs, arrangements that I've written and used for lessons and stuff
all the time.
By the way, I have room for more Skype students almost any time, so if you're interested in
some of that, get in touch with me.
Also though, recently, a couple of new things have happened that are going to be [N] real fun.
One is, by the time this video is actually put up at YouTube, I'll have my new website
up and running.
So JohnStandifer.com has had a major overhaul and everything is all new and fresh and there's
things that are gone, things that are there and so forth.
So make sure and go visit and see what's going on.
And in the near future, there will be some exciting new features at the website that
you'll want to return and check out.
And I'll be trying to record some songs finally.
I'm working towards album projects again and more videos and so forth.
So lots coming up.
So stay tuned.
Thanks.
