I want to share with you how to play the song Intimacy.
I wrote this song Intimacy a few years ago when I discovered the partial capo.
The first partial capo I used, I actually took a grinder to one of my old Kaiser capos
and made it up.
Then I found out that Kaiser actually makes these things called partial capos.
And this partial capo bars three strings and leaves the rest of the strings open.
Bars the A, the D, and the G string.
I love how a new tuning or a new chord can inspire a new song.
And when I discovered the partial capo, I just started playing around with shapes on the fretboard.
And I found an A chord all the way up here on the 17th fret.
And [E] then I slid it down with the same shape to an E chord on the 12th fret and a [D] D chord
on the 10th [E] fret.
This is probably one of the simplest songs I've ever written.
It's the same three chords the whole song.
Same three shapes.
But I love how in simplicity some of the most beautiful things can come out.
I used a simple little picking pattern and it follows this progression the entire song.
