It was a good learning experience for me
because I wrote 75 [C#] or 80 [D] songs.
I learned a [C#] lot through that process
and I think I grew as a writer and as an artist.

It's not just the musical aspect
but the [D#m] life stuff affects the music side [B] of things.
We had a child [C#] since I started this record making process.
[D#] The business [D] itself has changed a lot.
[C#] It's just a really, you know,
a culmination of all of that [B] life and lessons and age
and the [D#m] kinds of songs that I came across,
the kinds of songs I wrote,
just the [C#] backstories on all of it.
You know, it's been cool [B] to see [C#] all of that stuff
kind of being boiled down to [F#] this project, Deep South.

to try to get a feel for like
what the fans are gonna experience

first and foremost.

and how I've grown as an [C] artist
and as a person, you know, through this record.
I want it to give them a sense of [B] hope and joy
and peace, you know, after [E] hearing it.
