Paradise fell and the tenements [Eb] grew
Swept my soul across the avenue
Paradise fell and the [Eb] tenements grew
The [Db] tenements grew
[Db] I'm so [N] excited to be making my first full-length studio album.
It's called Nine Pin and the title Nine Pin I actually got from a square dance formation.
It's part of a dance [Bbm] that's done a lot in West Virginia and I've been spending a lot [Ab] of my time there.
And so this dance, the Nine Pin, features an individual right in the middle and eight [Gb] people, eight couples, dancing around the person.
[N] And so I found it to be very poetic and very symbolically representative.
And so I've done a lot of songwriting in West Virginia and while on tour through Atlantic Canada.
But what I'm most excited about really [Fm] is the lush instrumentation that's going to be happening [Ebm] on this record.

[Bb] this [Eb] town
So I'm working with Chris Bartosh and he's my producer.
He was [Ebm] also my producer on Sorrowbound.
And so we're going to have many [Eb] collaborators on this album.
We're going to [N] have Brian Kolejkowa on bass, Caleb Hamilton on trumpet and flugelhorn.
Chris Bartosh again is going to be doing five string fiddle, [Ebm] some guitar work.
And we're also going to have [Eb] Rakesh Tiwari on percussion.
So I'm really [Ebm] excited to, you know, showcase that [Eb] combination of musicians and I think it'll be really [Bbm] [F]
[Eb]
[Bb] [F]

cool.
[Bbm] Rise up and [F] fall, Saint Elizabeth
I [Eb] am king to your call in the mist
[Bb] I am slave to your land and [Ab] I'll die by your hand, [Gm] Elizabeth
[Eb]
A [Bb] lot of the feeling that I've gotten from the past ten years [Ab] or so that I've been playing banjo
is [Bb] the immense feeling of togetherness [Abm] that old time has brought me and that I don't think I've been able to find anywhere else.
And there's this community, this wonderful, beautiful community [Ab] that is [G] irreplaceable and sacred and beautiful.
[Ebm] And I'm so honored to be a [Eb] part of in West Virginia and [Ab] in Toronto.
And [G] so I think that that idea [F] is something [Bb] that I really wanted to bring to the album.
And, you know, singing voices together and instruments [Bbm] together, hopefully [Eb] we'll showcase that.
With [Eb] blackened frozen feet, [Bbm] white roses [Eb] all around
And covered on [Bbm] the ground

I'm the devil's [Bb] disciple, Elizabeth
Down, down in the [Eb] depths of below
Tie me up on your cross, take me into your [Eb] thoughts, Elizabeth
