One, two, three, one, two, three.
I'm deaf and deaf in [F#m] my old frame.
[A] Oh, [Bm] I heard a word from your chest come out from [F#m] within.
Take me [Bm] as I come now.
Take me as [A] I will.
Take me as an angel.
My freedom is [F#m] mine, but I'll share.
[A] My name is Kevin [F#] Morby.
I'm in Gaia, looking at Porto, part of the Primavera Sound.
[A] Playing a festival is always different.
It depends on the festival.
[E] Sometimes I prefer a club gig, but then other times it's really nice to be at a festival and get to play to so many people.
It just [F#m] comes down to the festival itself.
Primavera is [B] my favorite festival [F#] of all time, so it's always a pleasure.
[C#m] And won't you say a prayer for [A] me?
[B] My friend, I'm [A] not dead, [E] but I'm dying.
So [A] slow,
[Bm] so slow, [F#] so [A] slow.
[B]
[Dm] [G] [A]
[G] [E]
[E] I wrote the song Bridge to Gaia because of that bridge right there.
[B] I had an Airbnb right on the other side, [Em] and I would walk across it every day.
And I remember specifically flying in, [E] and we [B] got in a taxi cab.
Me and my girlfriend, and he took [Em] us to where the apartment was, but the woman wasn't there to give us the keys yet.
And so we [C#] decided to walk across the bridge, and I remember we were [Em] just violently laughing at [E] how beautiful it was.
And I [B] wrote the song.
The song came out [G] of that.
I just had the most magical, [F#] magical week.
I hate to keep saying it, but we're just so excited to be here, honestly.
I really, really love Quartet.
[C#] [E]
[G#] All of My [C#] Life is [F#] about a certain type of love.
[G#] It's like [D#] the many different shapes that love can [F#m] take.
And [E] it's kind of a three-part song.
[C#m] And your mind [E] experiences [G#] so many different types of love in so [G#m] many different types of ways.
[F#m] And that's what it's about, yeah.
All of my [C#m] life, waiting for [E] you
Just to [G#] be by your [C#] side, and to see you through
[G#] And you'd call my [C#m] name, but what would you say
If you [G#] knew my [C#m] place, [A] then who are [F#m] you
[B] Oh, and you'd [E] come [A] down [B] and make a stay
[D#m] And [B] if they told you what, [E]
then why you standing [E] there
And all [G#] of my life, spent [C#m] on you
[G#] Just to be by your side, but you never [E] came
[Em] And you'd call [E] my [Em] name, just to see you
I [B]
moved to Los Angeles from New York two years ago.
And I get asked all the time if it's influencing my songwriting [B] in a different way.
And I don't know that it really [E] has yet.
Because I feel like I write a lot.
I'm very inspired by motion, and I write a lot on tour.
And so I'm constantly touring, and [E] I feel like that's where all my ideas are bred.
I think if anything, it's going to just sort of influence it almost [Em] sonically.
Or just how, like perhaps there'll be more time and space within [A] the songs themselves.
And they won't [F#] feel as rushed as when I lived in New York and [C#m] wrote New York.
Harlem River, talk to me
The origin [E] of Harlem River, the song, I did a walk of Manhattan
where I started at the very top on the [D#] west side and walked all the way down.
It gets very peaceful up there, or just uptown in general to me.
There's a point where you kind of get past Harlem and everything,
and it gets very [B] green and beautiful.
And so I found just [D#] kind of some solace in the river.
It's kind of about having that conversation [C#m] with the river.
I write for you, I write for you, I write for you, I write for [E] you.
