[G] [E]
[Eb] When you were 11 years old, who were your favorite bands?
11 years old.
Around that age.
Around [B] 11 years old.
I [F] would probably say, I really [Eb] liked, this [Bb] is incredibly difficult, you should know that
I have [Gb] a deficient sense of time.
I have kind of a sense of [Bb] temporal displacement.
I have trouble [Db] recalling [F] various moments on the [G] arc of time, so it's difficult [Eb] for
me to remember [Bbm] exactly what would be 11.
I would [Db] probably say I was really into [F] Poison.
Our dad introduced [G] us to your music.
[Gb] What music did your dad introduce you to?
My [Eb] dad introduced me to [F] Muddy Waters.
He [G] introduced me [Gb] to John Lee Hooker, Nina [G] Simone, and he [Em] also
[D] really, really liked [Bb] Gloria Estefan.
What [Gm] was the first song you ever wrote about [N] a girl?
Did she know you wrote it [Gb] about her and did she like it?
[Em] The first song I ever wrote?
I'm trying to think [G] back to the high school days because I was writing.
Did I write a song about a girl in high school?
[Em] There was a brief mention of supermodel Naomi Campbell in one of my [A] songs [Gm] and [Em] she did not know.
[C] I'm [N] pretty sure she doesn't know that I wrote it.
I [F] mentioned her in soft high [G] school.
I'm almost.
Where was the first concert you played [Db] with Jimmy in your [Bb] band and what do you remember about it?
I [Cm] do remember this.
Jimmy hired me as a guitar player for a Jimmy Sutton show.
He had a [B] show as Jimmy Sutton [Ab] and it was in [F] Seattle, Washington quite a few years ago now.
He hired me on guitar, Carl Sonny Leyland, a fabulous British pianist, and [Bb] Bobby Trimble
who's a great drummer and a great friend of ours.
We played a show at the Shake the Shack Festival in Seattle, Washington.
Have you ever forgotten the words of one of your songs during a concert?
Almost every [Db] single, [Gb] almost, let's just go ahead and say every single time.
[Bb]
What is the [G] best and worst part about touring?
[Bb] The best part about touring, these are excellent questions by the way.
These are probably the best questions I've ever been asked.
The best part about touring is performing and also I would throw in van hijinks.
Van hijinks, we'll get on one thing and drive that into the ground and [F] then we'll get out
of [G] the van because the van is very insular.
We'll get to [Bb] doing something in the van and then we'll take that out of the van and people
will react very strangely because they don't know what's going on.
You'll see us do this a lot and it gets to the point where we'll be walking down the street
[F] going for gelato [G] or something and we're all [Bb] trying to perfect that snap.
That was pretty good [G] but it looks pretty silly when we're always going like this.
So that's fun.
I like doing that stuff.
Worst part about [Bb] touring is missing my two [F] little girls and my [E] wife and being away [Bb] from home
because I love being at home.
I love feeding the dog and sitting on the couch.
I love that stuff.
What sport in the Olympics would you like to compete [G] in?
I am probably the worst athlete that ever did.
I did play baseball for a very short amount of time in high school [Gm] but I was there only
because I [G] made a complete nine player baseball team.
[Bb] So they had to hire me.
But I love soccer but they [Gm] wouldn't let me do soccer because I can [G] barely run around the block.
Maybe they'd let me be a ball boy.
Who is your favorite Spice Girl?
My favorite Spice Girl is Scary Spice.
Do you want to know [Bb] why?
Yeah.
I always thought it was really cool that she would wear those camouflage shorts.
And then I saw her years later on Dancing with the [Bb] Stars and I really thought she [G] was great.
[Bb] She's a little crazy and I like that.
Who is your [G] favorite contestant?
I don't know.
[F] One of them.
I don't know.
[Bb]
You can just say Posh.
Posh is the best part.
[G]
