[C#] [Fm] [F#] [E]
[F#m] Nick here with 4 7ths of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in the backyard of Gizzard
HQ.
There's a touch of Australiana here.
We've got a clothesline, we've got a holden and
you guys are just about to head out on the road for the Bloody Ripper national tour.
Bloody Ripper of course being your new single which has been [B] very well received but it [C#] is
I'd suggest somewhat less abrasive [B] than anything on Willoughby's [F#] Beach.
[C#] Definitely wasn't something that was [B] thought out.
[A#m] I don't know, I suppose that was just
[C#] the [F#] song, we did a bunch of songs and I thought that one was the strongest.
Is that indicative of what we can expect from the upcoming album which from what I can ascertain
is about half recorded now?
There are some like trashier, heavier sort of garagey stuff like songs as well.
Like
it's just a bit of both.
[F#m] I don't know, that's always kind of been what Gizzard's about I
[B] guess.
Just like nice simple [C#]
catchy melodies [B] but also [C#] make it pretty brutal.
Converse have this Acts [B] of Disruption project at the moment where [C#] they're staging gigs in
places [F#] where you wouldn't ordinarily see a show.
Now there's a Melbourne, Brisbane and
Sydney show and you guys are playing the Sydney leg which is on the 11th of May.
Now you guys
were asked by Converse to put forward a list of ideas of places that you wanted to play
and I've had a look at the list and [B] most of the suggestions to be perfectly honest are [C#] fucking stupid.
[B] Yeah, I really wanted to do Hungry Jacks [C#] but that didn't really [B] happen.
How does that work out logistically [C#] do you think?
I don't know, [F#] just bring a couple of instruments in, a couple of amps and do it and see what happens.
See I wanted to do the interview today in [G] a gigantic paper mache platypus but I approached
our producer and I said, do you think this is feasible?
He went, no it's going to be
expensive, it's not [Gm] funny and it's not [C] something that is a good book.
And [G] [C] I think maybe that was a consideration you should have thought about.
Is this a good
idea?
It's a bit stupid.
I think when they said give us a list of places to play I think automatically [F#m] I just thought
of what's the most absurd place to play.
Any other [F#] things get thrown up that didn't get put in the list?
Strip club.
Oh no, that got put in the list.
We wanted to do a strip club on Kings Cross.
Very two hand style, like Brian Brown upstairs, deer with guys with BB stubbies and little
guns sitting around.
Women's prison.
We [B] liked the idea of just having [C#] people around farming, [F#] just [C#] really nonchalant, not really
[B] caring and we're just going crazy and then [C#] just
[F#] So the one that came out on top as it [D] transpires [B] was the [F#] Roselle Hospital, the psych ward there,
the mental asylum, which apparently has a capacity of 200 people.
So I suppose if you
want to get down there for the show you'd have to get in there quick.
It's free booze
and free entry as well I think.
Yeah and there's some sort of, [C#] I'm not sure but I think they're running buses [B] or there's
going to be some sort of exclusive [C#] entry.
Like I don't think you can [B] just get there
[C#] by your own means.
Yeah, well it seems like he [B] knows a lot more than you guys about these sort of things.
Have you noticed that?
I don't know what's going on.
[F#] Why is that?
I thought we were playing Hungry Jacks.
Yeah, we're not.
