The song Take Shelter just started _ a week or two ago

Yeah, it was actually written [G] in high school a while ago, _ and it was kind of written about _
_ _ _ _ Social anxiety _ and _ learning to take refuge in _ _ my kin
_ _ And [Ab] I think like _ I guess [Em] two years [G] passed, something like that
Because [D] you're not that long ago
_ [Ab] Yeah, it was like
You made it say high school, that would be 20 years, yeah
That's a big difference
Yeah, _ yeah, _ feels like a long time ago I _ understand Yeah, _ yeah

_ _ _ But yeah, I kind of forgot about this song
I put it in my bottom drawer and just didn't think about it for _ a few years
And _ _ _ _ yeah, sent the chorus to Ben
Because it was just in my head again [Ab] Ben Shive _ _

And [Gb] yeah, [Eb] he really liked the chorus and we tried to rework the song
And then [Ab] as we were working on the song, then [Bm] we got the news of the [Fm] war in Ukraine
_ [G] _ And the chorus, which is

actually different

It's a different meaning
_ _ _ Yeah
[E] _ _ _ _ _
Yeah, [N] it's about the bombs being dropped
And yeah, on the surface
It just kind of made it seem like we [Ab] knew the song
_ And then whenever
_ Yeah, _ the lyrics started to form around [D] that _ _ _
[Dbm] New, fresh _ experience
But then we related it to that [Ab] deeper war
That is, you know, rages within our [E] souls
Which we need the Lord to come in [A] and free us from
And so there's this [Eb] sense of [C] that deeper victory
That comes in whenever Skai starts to sing _ _ _
And then the hope of the future
That our ultimate _ [Eb] shelter _ is with the [Dbm] Lord
One that will never be taken away
And bizarre forever
And it's such a delight for me to get to be involved
And that's done [Gm] to help shape [Ab]
the lyric
And _ _ _ _ [E] very passionate about it, very excited [N] about it
And we're going to have it as part of the new [Ab] album release
Which is in [Eb] a _ few _ [Db] weeks now, next month at some point
