[E] Hi,
[A] [G] [E]
[E]
[A] my name is John Piricello.
I am with Lakeland Basses, Lakeland Guitars in Chicago, Illinois.
I'm here to show you the Jsonic 5.
The Jsonic 5 is a model that we put out last year, so it's a fairly new model.
It is based on a traditional jazz offset body.
The thing that makes it the Jsonic 5 is our J-Shi-Sonic pickups that we make in Chicago.
It's a Skyline Series bass, which means it is plect in our factory in Chicago.
It features our US-made Jsonic pickups that have a kind of a unique quality
that's a bit different from a traditional jazz bass pickups.
The neck is a 35-inch scale maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard.
The extra-inch scale length gives us a little more support on the B-string,
makes the note sound a little more solid,
which makes the B-string sound a little more akin to the other four strings.
The spacing is jazz bass spacing, so it's a familiar string spread.
It's comfortable to play.
The biggest difference between this and our regular Skyline 5560,
which is our 5-string J-Bass, is the Jsonic pickups.
The character of these pickups are a little bit more upper-midrange complex.
They're loosely modeled after a Swedish pickup called the Bisonic
that were in Hagstrom basses in the 50s.
We created a version of our own that had some of the same characteristics,
but we feel are a little bit warmer, a little bit more usable in a variety of contexts.
So, I think that's about all I can say about this right now.
If you have any more questions, you can contact your Sweetwater sales engineer.
And I'll put a little more for you.
