This is David here and today we're gonna play the song Last Christmas by Wham!
This song is built out of only 4 chords but we're gonna do lovely things [N] with them
I'm gonna show you some very nice bass lines in the left hand
So let's get to work!
_ Ok guys, so Last Christmas is built out of 4 chords only
This is great, right?
And this chord progression is called the turnover

Now let's move [D] to the chord
So we start with D6, F sharp A B D and D in the bass
And then we move to [B] Bm7 which is basically the same chord
Only we switch the bass in the left hand
[D#] The right hand is still playing the same notes
Then we move [Em] to E minor with G B E and E in the bass
And then we stick to [A] A.
A is the last chord
A C sharp E and A in the bass
[B] Simple, huh?
So it's basically [D] _
Dm6
F sharp A B D and D in the bass
In the second chord we switch to B
Then we [Em] move to E minor, G B E and E in the bass
And then [A] A.
A C sharp E and A
Now let me show you, [C#] we do something really nice in the right hand
[F#m] Instead of playing the chord like this
We first take the two upper notes on the [B] chord
And we move the one key to the [N] right
But not white key, so from B we move to C sharp
And from D we move [C] to E
And this is what we do, we play
Last Christmas I gave you my heart
[B] So we play basically F sharp A [F#m] C sharp and E
And then we solve it [D] to the chord I introduced you to before
[Em] So if you play D in the bass it sounds like [D] this
1 2 3 4 C sharp E and B and D
And you do the [G] same only you switch to B in the left hand
But the very [B] next [A] day C sharp E and then to [Bm] B and D
[Em] Now remember the next chord E minor
So what we do, [E] we play _ D slash E before
So we play [D] A D and F sharp [E] slash E and then we [Em] solve it
So we play two times D [Em] slash E to E minor
[D] D slash E [Em] to E minor
And then we [D] do D slash A
So A D and F sharp slash [A] A and we solve it to A
Which is the chord I introduced you to before
[Em] So this is basically how it sounds
[D] C sharp E going to B and D
C sharp E going to B and D
This was a D6 chord
[A] And now we go to B minor
So we only switch to B in the bass
And we [Bm] continue

And then we move to [D] A

And this is basically the whole song
[N] Now that you know the chords we only have to discuss the groove
So what we're gonna do in the right hand is play all the beats
This song is in four quarters and we're simply [F#m] gonna do

So you can count along with it
