Hi this is Yoke Wong with yokewong.net. For this video lesson I'd like to show you a
very interesting left hand style.
With this lesson I'd like to freely give away
a very effective left hand techniques.
I call this the solid rock or the
solid Latin rhythm.
What you do is you have four beats.
Let's say you have a
C chord.
1 2 3 4.
Instead of holding it for [C] 4 beats or play the block chord 1 2 3 4
I'm gonna just play the the root and the fifth.
Okay you can play the root and [G] the
fifth.
What you do you play the root for two [C] beats 1 2 [G] and then you play the
fifth note for two beats on the 3 and the 4 beat.
[C] You go like 1 [G] 2 3 [C] 4 1 [G] 2 4
and then once you have many measures of the same C chord then you can move the
bass note to [C] the higher C to play 1 [G] 2 3 [C] 4 1 [G] 2 3 [C] 4 1 [G] 2 3 [C] 4 1 [G] 2 3 4
okay and then you can [F] when you have F chord you know you do the same thing you
figure out the F chord you just play the F and C and the F you're gonna hold for
two beats 1 [C] 2 3 [F] 4 1 [C] 2 3 4 and if you [F] want you can even play the F [C] first and
then go back [F] to F and then play a lower [C] C.
[F] [C] [F]
[C] Let me show you this technique on the
song okay it's traditional one of the love songs.
[F] [G]
[D] [G]
[D] [G] [C]
[D] [G]
[D] [G] [D] [C]
[F] Okay so that's a easy way to
implement this left hand techniques on the song the song that I just played for
you.
You probably heard of it okay you can also use this on some other song
let's say.
[F] [C]
[F] [Em]
[Dm] [C]
[F]
[C] [Em]
[Dm] [C] [N] Okay so that is a very easy way to implement and make and make your
left hand sounds much more rhythmic and much more interesting and feel free to
