One of the world's top guys for musical arranging, performing, and writing has got to be Leon Russell.
Leon got started early in the music business at about age 14 in Oklahoma.
He's probably best known as a studio session musician.
He's played on countless records for many different artists, including the Rolling Stones, Phil Spector, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
You'll know Leon's musical arranging by listening to the old Gary Lewis and the Playboys songs from the 60s.
In the 70s, Leon got a big hit called Lady Blue and in 1984 released the album Solid State.
From that LP, we're featuring a song called Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues, a remake of an old song by Danny O'Keefe.
Elvis has done this song as well as Charlie Rich, but the Leon Russell version is a bit different.
It's got kind of a light rock sound to it.
Let's see what you think.
From 1984, this song did not chart.
