Hey, welcome back to the channel today is July 4th everybody hopes having a healthy happy and safe 4th of July
Today I have a request for a song by the motels called only the lonely
[Ab]
[Fm]
[Db]
[Ab] [Ab]
[Bm]
[Abm]
[N] So the song is in a
flat I
Tuned down for this and I think the guitar on the record probably tuned down because I mean that main riff although
How much of the main [Gb] riff the guitar plays with the keyboard, but it's that
[Cm]
[Bbm] [Ab]
The solo seems to make [C] more sense in that so the first part of the solo
Slides in it's basically all played here in this position of a major pentatonic
Or you could look at it as f-sharp minor pentatonic, but it's the same thing and he comes he slides in [Abm] it's like
[Db] You can play it like I usually play it with my middle finger coming [G] in going [Ab] then there's this lick and then
[F]
[Abm] so let's take a look at that real slow one more time, so it's I
[Ab]
[F] [Bb]
[F] [Fm] Would call that the first [F] half and then the next lick is
[Ab] Which is [Eb] basic enough?
[F]
[Ab] And [N] then he kind of like you would expect at least I expected that
That riff to come in a little bit later, but he actually comes in pretty quick with it.
So it's like
[Fm]
it's like boom that and so it's a
[Bb]
[Cm] [F] [Ab]
[Eb] That's it.
So let's just try that.
So I'm gonna play that pot [C] slow
[Eb] [Ab]
[Bb] [Cm]
[F] [Ab]
[N] So the only tricky little thing in that whole thing is that first bend is like I'm it's like just a little touch [F] of a
band he goes
[Fm] [Db]
Just quick [Gm] so
[Ab] again the whole solo is
[Bb]
[Eb] [F]
[Ab] [Eb]
[Eb] [Ab]
[G] And then the sax solo kicks in one of my all-time favorite solos, it's a fun song it's a great song to perform live
Just one of those things
This was for a buddy of mine on Facebook a buddy of mine for
Almost 25 years now
But he messaged me on Facebook and we talked about it.
But yeah
So this is for you Micah
anyways
What else has been going on?
I played a party last night
July 4th [C] party on the 3rd down in Marshfield with a am station.
That was a lot of fun
Had a lot of guests come up and sit up with us
Local guitar player Rich Dooley sat in
Cam I go drummer boy one three five here on YouTube sat in with us
Local bass player Dave Sutherland and Cindy Weatherby on guitar sat in it was great
We had a lot of a lot of guests come and sit in
It was a lot of fun trying to think if there was anybody else that came and sat in
and yeah that party went pretty late and
Today I'm just taking it easy meeting a couple of buddies of mine for lunch today
I just thought I'd get get this out early.
It's the first chance I had
It's gonna be a busy week because I don't have a lot going on
A lot of my students have vacations, so I'll probably be posting a lot of videos, which is something to look forward to
Also just a quick shout out to Jim Paulitano buddy of mine went to high school with the place based in this band here
30 where is it over here 36 red?
That's his local band they play a lot they play out a lot just giving him a quick shout
Anyways, that was it that's the solo.
It's a short one today.
I hope you have a great one.
Have a safe holiday
If you're going to drink don't drink too much don't drive and be well [Bm] very good
Today I have a request for a song by the motels called only the lonely
[Ab]
[Fm]
