[Ab] Hey guys, it's Karl Brown from Guitar Lessons 365.com.
Today we'll take a look at the solo from Let It Be.
Now we'll take a look at the album version, not the single version.
The album version's got a more, kind of a, some better guitar licks and it's got a [Gb] really
kind of in your face tone, so it's really cool.
So we're going to do that one and I'm just going to do it note for note.
I did the chords of this song years ago, so make sure you check out that lesson as well
if you just want to learn the basic chords.
It's a pretty easy lesson.
But this is going to be note for note of the solo.
So let's start here with this first phrase.
[C]
[D] [C] [G]
Alright so we got a little Hendrix action going there.
We're going to do a little bar between the D and the G string of the [C] fifth fret.
Hold those two notes and hammer on the seventh fret on the D as you play those two notes,
those two chords.
So [Em]
you can still let that G string ring.
[C] Then back to those two notes.
Then you're going to do a quick [D] slide from seven to five on the A.
[C] And then hammer three
to five on the A and back to three.
You got that so [Am] far?
[C]
[A] Then slide back five to seven.
[E] [G] Hit five twice on the D string.
[E] Back to the seven on the A and back to [G] that five.
[C]
[Em] [G]
Alright next phrase.
[Em]
[C] Alright so [G] that's just a hammer on from five to seven on the D.
[F] [C] And then the same thing
on the G.
[G] [Em] [E]
But when you get to that seventh fret on the G, you're going to bend it up
a whole step.
Pick it [D] again, release, [C] and then resolve it down to the fifth fret on that G.
[E] [Cm]
Alright next phrase.
[E] [A]
[C] Alright so we're going to basically be sliding seven [E]
to nine on [C] the G, grab eight on the
high E string,
[D] [C] then slide back down nine to seven on the G and pull off to five.
Then pick five again [D] and [E] then [C] do a bend there at the seventh fret.
[D] Hammer on the seventh.
[Em] Now as you play that seventh fret, then come and hit the fifth fret on the high E [B] string
and then still go back and pre-bend that seventh fret [D] and release it.
[B] Sing like that.
So you have this.
[D] [B] [E] [Eb]
[C] And then you release that bend and pull off to five.
[A]
[Cm] [D] Then a couple of pull-offs from [Em] seven to five on the D string.
[A] [D] Then that slide [C] from seven to five on the A.
Hammer three to five again and back to the three.
So you have this.
[A]
[G] Next phrase.
[Em]
[Cm]
[Ebm] Alright.
[G] So that's another hammer five to seven on the D string.
[C]
Hit the fifth fret on the G string twice.
Then back to seven on the D and then back to that five on the G.
[E] Then you can quickly slide into the ninth fret on the G [G] and play the eighth fret [Em] on
the B.
Now you can do that slide, that little lick right there, three times in a row.
So it goes.
[G]
So we have [Em] this.
[G] Alright.
And then you're just going to simply play the [A] tenth fret on the B after that third [Dm] time
of playing that lick.
Just let that note hang there for a second.
Tenth fret on the B.
[G] Then you're going to hammer eight to ten on the B.
[E] [G]
[A] Hammer eight to [Cm] ten over to eight on
the high [E] E string.
[G] Hold that bend at the tenth [Ab] fret.
[A] Pick it again and release.
Then hammer eight to ten and back to eight.
[Cm] So all together so far.
[Em]
[A] [G]
[N] Alright.
The last phrase.
[E] [G]
So it's another pre-bend here at the fifteenth fret on the high E string.
Hold that pre-bend.
So pick it already played, already bent.
Release.
Then another pre-bend at the fifteenth fret on the B string.
[Gm] [C] Then [G] thirteen to fifteen.
Then another pre-bend.
Then hammer thirteen to fifteen.
And then end it on thirteen.
Want to have [E] this all together?
[Gm]
[G] [Cm]
Alright.
Whole solo.
Nice and slow.
[Am] [C]
[A] [C] [Em]
[G] [Em]
[Cm]
[B] [C]
[D] [Cm]
[Am] [Cm]
[G]
[E] [A]
[Cm] Alright.
That's about it.
Hope you guys enjoyed it.
