[Gm]
Hi, I'm Rosa.
I'm Jenny.
And we're from Let's Eat Grandma.
We're at Plato in Groningen and
we're filming Bands by Records.
And we've got some Euros, so here we go.
Yeah, get our
value for money.
You go places if you think my record knowledge is not extensive.
I've
seen quite a lot of Steve Winwood.
You do wonder why there's such a stockpile of Steve
Winwood.
What do we not know?
[Bb] I do like, yes, [Gm] yes.
Look down there.
Yeah.
A little book.
I think we should buy it.
Is that an option?
Yeah.
Is that on the
Well, it's new and
it's cool.
We've got some, but we don't have a record player, so
My dad does.
I'll be
like, can I borrow?
There's a lot of Blue Oyster Cult.
Quite a lot of ABBA as well.
And I can always appreciate a bit of ABBA.
One of my favourite areas because we've got
my three favourite bees, beetles, beach boys and Bowie.
The banger [C] of an album.
[Eb] Yeah, I
[F] [Gm] [Eb]
[F] [Gm] love it.
Five different versions [Eb] of Good Vibrations on.
[F] [N] Oh, because it's Good Vibrations.
[Eb] Oh yeah.
[C] Quite a classic.
There we go.
[Eb] Oh, there is a hip hop section.
[D] This is very [Eb] optimum.
It's
Currents by Taylor Parner.
And it's just really, really good.
[Fm] It's good [Gm] to play games too,
weirdly.
[F] It's like relaxing, but also kind of [Fm] like
[Bb] Just like, if you're playing Tetris,
wouldn't you just [C] want to put [Gm] this album on?
[Eb] Not like, do you know what I mean?
Because
it's just, [F] you know, you feel like you're thinking [C] about life.
[Gm] Do, do, do.
That's totally
a gaming sound.
Maybe this is all in my [Bb] head.
This is what I [F] associate.
[Eb] Oh, here we go.
I [Gm] think that artwork is [G] very good representation of the album, which is important [Eb] for the album.
[F] [Eb]
[F] [Gm] [Eb]
[F] I [C] don't feel like I really [Gm] know anything about classical.
I just got really into minimalism
mainly, like, [G] especially Steve [Eb] Reich.
Do you think we should just go for two or should
we go for CDs?
[F] Because then we might be able to [Eb] get three.
[F] [Gm] I'm not familiar [Eb] with this section.
[G] I probably, I probably, I [Eb] probably picked someone really iconic up and being [C] like, look
at the artwork of this.
And you're like, you're like, no, I [F] [Eb] love
Yeah.
And he actually
checked.
She's like, is it [F] Bob Dylan?
[G] [Cm] [Bm] I'm giving my sister a shout out because she really
[D] likes [Eb] Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I haven't listened to it [F] at all.
[Gm] [Eb]
[G] [Eb]
[G] [Eb]
[G] This is, um, yeah, it's an Afrobeat
band and I think they're actually Dutch.
[Eb]
[F] [Gm] [C] [Dm]
[Eb] Wait, the cap on the cap.
[Dm] [Gm] I think we're going to go for a wild card.
[B] [Gm] I think that sets us
off quite well, doesn't it?
[A] Yeah.
[B] There we go.
Totally, [Dm] totally describes everything
about us as a band.
[Ab] People say, were you inspired by [Cm] Kate Bush?
[Eb] No.
Björk?
[Dm]
[Db] [Eb]
[G] [Eb]
[F] [Eb]
[Db] [Gm]
So what have we got on our sandwiches today, Jenny?
The first sandwich we have is
Ah, the Beach Boys.
See, this is, this is quite, um, [A] sandy.
[Gm] [Dm] Yeah.
[Cm] Why did you
I chose this [Eb] one because [F] [Eb] it's, I'm really into the Beach Boys and this has got a lot
of [F] Beach Boys tracks on that I [Eb] haven't heard, along with some classics, [F] like my favourite
Christmas song, [Eb] Not the Same Nick, and [F] [G] Wouldn't It Be [Ab] Nice, which has got my favourite [Eb] key change in.
[C] We've got some other CDs because we don't have record [G] players, so we're like
I [C] picked, um, Grace by Jeff Buckley because I really love this album but I don't actually
[F] own it, [C] so I took the opportunity.
This record's just amazing.
There isn't really much else to say, I don't think.
Really good.
Just amazing.
Melodies and chords and lyrics.
We both really like this album.
It's Air, Moon, [F] Safari.
[Gm] Hold it up.
[Eb]
[Bb] We saw what Blue Dot this year.
Yeah, we saw what Blue Dot and they're really good.
I'd heard them, like, last summer because
of my auntie, but I hadn't, [Eb] like, I hadn't really, like, listened to [Dm] any of the other
material until, like, [Eb] this year.
This is our wild card, [F] [Gm] Skying by [Eb] The Horrors.
We don't know anything about this but we think
the artwork's cool.
I think we're gonna put that one in the van.
We're not even in a van, we've hired a car
for Holland, [F] but, like And [Eb] bikes.
Yeah, and bikes.
Thanks for watching Bands Buy Records Buy Loud and Quiet.
We've been Let's Eat Grandma.
Thank you!
