I want to do a quick review of the new Chieftain V4 whistle that I got on the tour and I liked
it but not as much as the other two that I have.
So I'll be comparing that against the Optima and the MK Low D Pro.
So here is the V4.
It looks really good.
It's very well made.
It's aluminum, tunable, those kind of things.
I thought the head joint was actually pretty uncomfortable to play.
It just seems a little too long.
The only thing I didn't like about it was it was too breathy.
A lot of back pressure.
You can blast into it but fairly quiet for how much back pressure and just too airy,
too raspy for me.
Anyway, here's what it sounds like.

[A] [E]
That compared to the Optima, of course made by Phil Hardy as well, aluminum, tunable.
I like this a lot better.
Also quiet, not as much back pressure.

[G]
[F#]
[Em] [D] [N]
And that compared to the MK Pro, probably the most comfortable mouthpiece that I've used.
Aluminum, tunable, same deal as the other ones.
Much louder, maybe a little bit less back pressure, more than the Optima, not as much
as the Chieftain V4.
Maybe I said that wrong earlier.
