They didn't really highlight my fun, [A] _ spunky [E] side of my personality and [G] of course that
[B] of my collaborators.
So we wrote it because we were [D] together that [Em] afternoon [A] before we all knew we were going
into rehearsal the following day [Em] and we just [A] kind of balls to the [D] wall and wrote this song
Smooth _ that was full of attitude.
It was the other [D#m] end of the spectrum as far [A] as energy that you can hear and feel on this
record _ and we brought it into rehearsal the [D] next day.
We were going in to pre-pro _ [F#] that night.
[B] So that [F#m] afternoon we had a [E] writing session and so the song that we came up with was [G] Smooth
[F#] which was just a real [E] funky soulful track that's just got all [D] the stank that you want
[E] and _ wrote it top to bottom.
Felt [B] great [E] and when we got [B] in there, we threw it to the band.
Four hours later, you just heard [A] it.
The magic just exploded.
The band clicked.
You could see that everyone [Am] was just into it immediately and I swear that _ [A] _
totally guided
the rest [Am] of this record. _ _ _

that was just so much fun.
The groove, [Am] me and Sarah.
So I [F#m] think that [A] definitely is an indication to you
[B] as a front [E] person in a group
that this is the band for this project.
That song, in fact, was a [B] real, real ember [Am] and spark
for what this record was [C#] about,
which was about [Em] showcasing her vocals
and [B] just like the soul side of her.
It throws back [A] to a time that is [B] never gone.
When we recorded that,
it really cemented the band
