We've got Ben on the bass, Mark on the guitar, Alex on usually the drums, he's on the cajon
today and I'm Nazri, I'm the lead singer.
Before we sing this acoustic version of Rude, we just wanted to tell you how we wrote it
because songwriting is important for us and the craft has always been a bit of an obsession
for me and I know the guys love the process too.
So I remember _ _ I was out one night, Mark was there too and we were out with some friends
and we had already started writing the album and we were doing some great stuff.
A few of the songs are on the album from that week where we did like six songs in one week
or whatever it was, like _ November 2012.
_ And I remember I had a rough night with an ex-girlfriend and I was with Mark and we were
writing and I just started singing, you know, why you gotta be so rude?
You know, don't you know I'm human too?
And it actually started off a really dark song.
_ It's funny because I would have never thought it ended up where it ended up now, which is
this story where I'm basically singing to a dad, which is sometimes it's funny, I'm
on stage and I'm like singing to a girl, but it's actually lyrics to a dad.
So I don't know whether to like, you know, like keep going at this girl, _ asking her to
marry her daughter, which would be like an infant.
So it's just _ _ an odd thing.
But the great thing is, is that you never know when you're being creative where you're
going to end up.
And this is where we ended up.
