Start Jamming...
Hi, I'm Wayne Erbsen.
I'm going to demonstrate a simple version of Man of Constanzaro,
and it comes from my book Bluegrass Banjo to the Complete Ignoramus.
So first, here's just [D] a bare bones melody.
[E] [G]
[A] [G] [C]
[Bm] [C] [D]
[C] [G]
Now I'm going to decorate the melody with a pinch, which is just the thumb playing the melody note,
and then five and one together with my thumb and middle fingers.
That's the pinch.
So here's Man of Constanzaro played with the pinch.
[C]
[G]
[Am] [G]
In addition to the pinch, you can play the two finger roll, and that means two one five one,
or three one five one.
Okay, here's what it sounds like with the two finger picking.
Now
[C]
[Em] [C] [G]
I'm going to alternate [N] the pinch with the two finger picking.
[G] Thank
[C] [Em]
[C] [G] [Dm]
[G] you.
[C]
[Em] [C] [G]
