[G] I had an amazing experience about 25 [Gb] years ago going to a place called the Full [B] Gospel Tabernacle.
It's [A] a church in Memphis, Tennessee [Am] and the minister there is the Reverend Al [C] Green, a great singer.
And I knew he was going [E] to be there and I went specifically to hear him and he was [G] on
the road and that he'd be preaching that day.
I [E] went down to his church, among other things I was doing in Memphis [Gb] that week, [E] and [G] man
I'll tell you it was [Gb] one of the most amazing [G] experiences of my life just listening to him
sing, watching everybody get in the spirit.
And [F] hour after [E] hour he preached and his voice just got [C] stronger and stronger.
It didn't matter to me that he wasn't singing, I'm so tired of being alone, he was doing
other stuff, but [Ab] it was a remarkable experience, so much so that it didn't take long until
[E] halfway through the service I was seriously beginning to question my [G] faith and wondering
if the Jewish people didn't have the whole thing entirely wrong.
[N]
Because I had never experienced that [E] feeling in Temple before, sweat [F] pouring down my back,
tears rolling down my eyes.
[Ab] I cried in Temple, but it was a different [Eb] reason.
[D]
This [C] was something else.
This among other things led me to write this tune that [E] I'm
[Eb] [Ab] not going to sing it tonight.
[N] I've been singing it for 14 years and I decided tonight is the night.
Thank you so much for understanding, for [A] being there for me.
Yeah, you already [C] paid.
I already did it once tonight, I figure that's good.
They loved it in the first show.
[Eb]
[G] You seen the movie that show?
That was a good show.
[N]
[Dm] Of course I'm kidding.
[E] I'm not only going to play it, I'm going to play it for 27 [N] minutes.
I had a couple of verses in my Fairfield song.

[Am]
[D] Yeah, I got first class [Am] ticket, but I'm as [C] blue as a bull it could be.
They are walking in Memphis,
[Am] walking on [F] their feet [G] ten feet off the beat.

[F] But there's a pretty little [C] thing waiting for [Am] the king, [F] right down the [C] jungle.
